Yeah sorry thats what i meant. I heard anywhere up to 5 hrs :s!?!?

No not at all!!,
It took him about 30-40 minutes in total from when he got to the immigration lineup to when he grabbed his bags and left the terminal, this is including the first immigration lineup, the immigration office, the customs lineup, baggage pickup, and getting our dog inspected to enter the country. :)

it was very quick, the longest I have heard it about 2 hours, and this is mainly because of long lineups!

Oh thanks. Cant always believe what you hear. I would wait 100000 hrs for my husband but i was just curious. ( preparing myself for that day) hopefully comes quick :). How many months approximately has anyone waited from the transfering of file to mexico until the day they ask for the passport? And how long usually when they ask forthe passport do they return it?

It was good! and very easy!,
He said it was standard the way you enter any country, than when they took him to the separate immigration room, there were some office admin people he dealt with. They just asked him the standard questions, if he has been in Canada before, they asked him for the ARC, asked him to confirm all his information is correct, stamped his B4, made some photocopies, cancelled his visa and sent him on his way.

They didn't give him any info on his rights as a PR or how to get health care or SIN though.

I have heard sometimes they will give you info about this or brochures and sometimes they wont, depends on the person helping you.

but other than that it was very quick and easy and they were friendly for the most part.
:)

I thought they took longer lol glad they arent rude lol

its approx. 3 months maybe a little more or less to hear from them after they transfer the file, all depends on the officer, how many applications hes working on etc. than after you send them the police certificates it can take anywhere from 3 weeks to 2 months to get the ppr. this varies greatly depending on the security checks, medical, evidence.

and when you get ppr, you can either take your passport to the embassy in Mexico city and get it back the same day, or you can mail it and that takes anywhere from 1-2 weeks to get it returned.

No, all you do is drop off your passport before 10:30am and mailing address and cell number, and than they make u leave and tell you to come back after 2 or 3 pm to pick it up

I am so jealous! After we drop off our passports here in Sao Paulo it takes 30-40 days to have it back (sometimes it takes longer!)... :(

But when Scotia Bank gave you the Scene Card, did you also have an unpaid Mexican credit card? If yes, did Scotia Bank ever find out about it?

Thanks papirico!

No, I didn't have any unpaid Mexican credit cards. I closed my HSBC visa card, I made sure to leave it at 0.
I don't think they have the capability to check Mexican debt, though.

No, if either you mail it or drop it off in person it won't make a difference. Unfortunately...
