No she hasn't contacted them again. She likes to wait for them to respond since she doesn't like to ruffle their feathers.lol. I personally have no patience and would have made contact a long time ago but as we speak my husband had to go away from his house to go and work for 2 months so even if they do request further documentation we will have to ask for an extention. I would still like to start the ARC application since it takes a few months to process. Am I right??

Yeah the average time is about 2 months. Unless they need more documents like in our case.
But i also saw. Girl have her arc approved in only 2 weeks. But ive never seen that before so shes super lucky! Lol

I would love to know why things have to be so complicated! I would love to know how some get through a lot quicker and others take sooooo long! Granted I understand that some cases are more complex then others but for the ones that aren't it shouldn't take as long as it does. I would love to be a fly on the wall just to see what exactly goes on behind the walls of Immigation! lol. I wonder if my husbands application is collecting dust right now?? ::)

Aren't you close to being done with your app?? Have you gone over your time for processing? How does that work exactly? At the time we applied Stage 1 approval was taking 3 months but I got my approval within 1 1/2 months and I know it says that it takes 13 months in Mexcio. So does the time start counting from the moment they recieve your application in Canada or does the 13 months start from the time they started processing in Mexico??

yeah we are waiting for the ppr.

in 2 weeks it will be 13 months in mexico city.

the mexico city average for 13 months is counted from the time u get stage 1 approval.
but its just an average, most get processed in half that time. theres just a few that go over the time, because of arcs or other problems that cause delays.

Well I have a feeling that I will be going over my processing time! >:(
I just want to be settled and know which direction our life is headed in. Canada or Mexico??
I have all these plans in my head if he gets landed and it would be nice if we can see them come true.
I think that's the hardest part besides being away from the person you love, everything is so uncertain. ???

E-cas status was updated as of today, showing Decision Made under the applicant's name. I guess it's just the VO updating the line after PPR. Still waiting for our passports. Should be any time next week. Fingers crossed.

Good luck to you all still waiting for news.

Just curious as to what was in other people's ppr letter? Ours just stated that our visa will be expiring April 28,2014 and that they needed confirmation of my hubby's current address the address of where he will be staying and his passport :)
He needed to send all this with a copy of the ppr letter and a prepaid airway bill. We had 15 days to sedn all information to them...but we did it on day one hehe. After waiting so long for the ppr who in their right mind would take the 15 days to send it in? lol :)

the ppr letter is generic, everyone gets the same thing just with a different expiry date

true that. only difference is the dates and the personal data.

Hey guys! Thanks so much to those who answered my last question :)

I am now wondering about my husband's driver's license. I understand we need to get a letter of proof stating how many years experience he has driving. There is no Ministry of Transportation here, it is the police which issue driver's licenses. Does that mean we need a letter from the police? Do we really need to get all of this translated here or can we translate it in Canada?

Thanks!

Not sure how it works for Nicaragua, but in El Salvador the issuing agency is the Viceministerio de Transporte (VMT) and the document to ask for is "Autentica de Licencia de Conducir" which basically indicates the validity of the driver's licence and the amount of driving experience of the bearer.

Try with the local Police if not sure where to go.

Good luck.

As for the documents' translation it depends on which province in Canada you'll be getting your driver's licence in. For Ontario, for example, the requirement is to have the driver's licence and/or letter of authentication translated to either English or French from a Ministry recognized translator.

Check the provincial services website for more specific information. good luck!
