Hi everyone! We are now safely back in Canada!

Immigration was easy and was pretty quick, took only about 15 minutes (but there were no line ups)

The first immigration guy (at the normal booths) was really nice he said his wife is from Mexico, ;D So he was really friendly with us! Then he sent us to another office for my hubby´s landing. They gave us some info about health care and all that and then there was a short interview with another immigration lady who was kind of rude...but that´s ok :P

My husband doesn´t really speak english that well and she was talking really fast and she wouldn´t let me translate for him! But she had a paper with all of the questions in Spanish so he just read off that. Then she got him to confirm the info and sign the COPR and that was all!

At the customs they didn´t even ask for or look at the B4 forms, just the customs card they get you to fill out on the plane.

Also in case anyone is interested she said if you need to travel before you get your PR card, you have to register with the Canadian government before you leave and they put a new visa in your passport (that looks just like the tourist one or the one they put in when you get the PPR), but instead of saying immigrant or visitor or whatever, it says permanent resident. So that´s what you would use to travel until you get the PR card.

Awesome! What kind of questions did they ask your hubby? I'd like to know. I wonder if they're basic things like Date of Birth, Full name (you know, confirming his identity) or sponsorship specific questions (things about you, your relationship, etc.) Anyone who already landed care to share?

Oh and it's officially week 9 for me! Based on Sillymemo's timeline, I should get PPR this week, but we all know it's a case by case scenario bla bla bla. I'm still hopeful! :)

That makes me so happy. Congrats to you and your husband on a successful landing, wishing you all the luck in the world as you begin your new journey in Canada! :)

Is anyone else here using lawyers to help them with there process or is everyone doing this on there own?

Our daughter and son in law used an immigration lawyer out of Vancouver, Boughton and Company...every email/phone call=$$$$$

Really? That's crazy, I am using lawyers, they have a flat rate for the whole process. Quite helpful though!

As far as I know, they just asked the standard customs questions, and then verified the address etc. I would just make sure you know your wife's address and phone number. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I hope you hear something this week!
