After the PGR gets sent in does ecas usually change to "in process" or should I just forget about ecas? lol

From what I have seen it's normal not to change until the very end. Then it changes to ''in process', and within a week you get your PPR. Of course this isn't certain, but when I see ours change to 'in process' I'm going to be jumping for joy. :)

hey CHULADAA.
I just called the refugee board in vancouver, and the lady was so polite.
she told me the same things you were told,
just write a written request with the client id, d.o.b, name etc. and fax it to their office, it might take a couple days to find it because they will pull it from the archives.

and no fee aswell.

so this sounds so much more simple than what i was doing before.

:D

That's awesome!! So the embassy now has all the docs they requested? Does this mean PPR will be next for you?

Technically I have a Departure Order Becomes Deportation Order. I've been asking this ever since 2009. The first time I asked them I told them that according to the Immigration Act, accompanying family members are not considered PDPs (Previously Deported Person) and therefore did not require an ARC. The officer agreed with me and said I didn't need one, but that there was an "error in the system" and he would try to fix it. Then I asked a year later and they told me "You do need one, but we won't charge you for it" and now they finally went the safe way and asked me for the ARC PLUS the fee >:( I'm hoping they approve it to get all this done and over with.

Ahh, so yours is much the same as LeisaP, and as I understand there is much confusion over hers as well. Ours was an exclusion order, giving him a one year ban. I am hoping that because our first step was delayed its a blessing in diguise because it allowed the anniversary date of the exclusion to pass by so by the time it goes to DF he wont have anything against him, this is my hopes, but of course we all know there is no logic to all of this lol !

Well I sure I hope they get it proccessed for you soon, if anyone deserves to get across the border, its certainly you, you have definately given your dues ! Lets hope that beard doesnt have to get to your toes !! My fingers are crossed for you as usual Edgar :)

Ours was changed to In Process August 16, still no PPR :(

I am sure this has already been discussed a 100 times but I am going to ask one more hee hee.... For the SSP, can you only obtain this in DF ? or would it be possible to get it in GDL ? I understand you can now get the PRG in GDL now so I am hoping he can do both there without having to travel to DF .... Figure we may as well get whatever we can ready now so we can jump once our files in Mexico. So if I have it correct, we need an updated birth certificate.. SSP certificate and then the PRG once it is requested. Is there anything else we should be getting together ?

SSP: Only avaliable in Mexico City, unfortunatly. If he cant get it, only a direct family member (mother, father, spouse, brother, sister, kids) can get it on his behalf.

PGR: He can get that one in his state, but only once you have the letter from the embassy. Make sure he has his carta poder, and a current birth certificate (these are the two major problems when trying to get the PGR) Also be sure to ask what photos they want. In Cancun it was Mexican passport size, in the DF it was the oval shaped, so be sure to call and ask!

:)

If he has to fly to Mex city I would reccomend volaris.. they have pretty cheap flights (compared to the others)
