It was more a feeling of humiliation, like someone taking advantage because he/she is in a position of power, something quite Mexican unfortunately. I love my country, but I can see the negative points as well. The family issue was the same as yours. My wife's father is American/Canadian and had probation a while ago for something minor, but that made it very difficult to get a passport, and also the fact that they're not affluent so taking a week off work would've been very difficult for them. Ironically it took a Canadian (the hearing judge) to understand this. The guy was the most awesome person I've ever had the privilege of talking to, and if I knew how he looked like, I'd chase him down in Toronto to thank him and invite him to a Mexican restaurant :D lol.

I'm not gonna lie, it's been very difficult for us, especially because she's not here, she only travels here like 2 or 3 times per year and stays for a little over a month. When she's here everything is perfect, but when she goes back sometimes there are periods when were fighting all the time, all couples fight and have arguments, but I guess this whole thing affects us a bit more. In the end though I think this has also solidified our relationship and has brought us closer to one another. I mean hell, if we're able to pull through this, everything else is child's play, right? ;)

no kidding if you can make it through this! you can make it through anything!.you guys will definatly be together forever! :)

That's unfortunate!! You shouldn't have been treated like that. And yes, although Canada's economy is better than Mexico's the cost of living is much higher, and missing a week's work could mean missing a rent/mortagage payment. So many people here live paycheck to paycheck. And certainly no means to take an international trip. I'm glad that the person reviewing you case had some more smarts about him, and I hope that woman is no longer working there!!

Yes, its certainly normal to fight a lot. I know there's been more than one time, I've taken my frustrations out on my husband. But for sure it has brought us closer together!! Knowing that your partner will stay with you during the worst of time, is great to know! :)

So sorry y'all I've been away from the forums simply because I haven't been interested lol. just days away from receiving word from Canada i hope!

At least you got something "Canadian-related" I started jumping up and down when I saw a (1) in my inbox, only to find out that 3 of my Facebook friends had posted on Marketplace >:(

Hahaha! Yes that's true! At least I know that they know I exist!
Awe! I've stopped getting exicted with new inbox messages. I have this thread set to come to my email. So now I just assume its posts on the mexico thread!

Happy for you, itscoezy :)

Well I have to admit I followed the link and I read the whole blog ! It was a great read. It made me realize that some of the issues and idiosyncrasies that we have may actually be the cause of a mexican/canadian relationship not merely a relationship lol, it was so funny to read the things he said and your reactions, it was like looking at us ! I think that sometimes I forget my fiance is mexican, he was in Canada for so long and sometimes was more Canadian then me, this was a good reminder that we were raised in seperate cultures and to remember and apprecaite the differences that we share :)

Does anyone know where to get fingerprints in the GTA?
