Actually sorry my case was different because they detained him in Canada.. so I think that's why I need the RCMP.. was your husband detained if not your probably ok

Hmm I am assuming we will need the RCMP certificate too since he was detained here for 7 days before being deported, he was also in Canada for 10 years... You would think they would have this info in thier deportation file since it would seem logical to get a RCMP report on someone that was being deported !

at least we have a good website and know how to get the rcmp check properly. so it will go smoothly if we need to get one :)

o okay. wow thats a long time. i bet it was hard on your husband, im sure he built a whole new life in those 10 years,
mine was only in canada for 3.5 years and he had a whole new life in that short time.
hopefully everything goes fast! :D

That must have been such an adjustment suddenly going back to Mexico after 10 years!! The good news is, when this is all over he'll never have to worry again.

It was reverse culture shock to his own culture for sure, it took him quite awhile to adjust, to be honest he is just settling now and next week will be our one year anniversary of his deportation. He was very much settled in Canada and it tore his life apart going back, but we believe this is fate making him make things right, it was also very hard on him living illegally and not being able to visit his family, so in a sense it was a blessing in disguise. Now we will make things right :)

i could only imagine!> my husband was only out of canada for 3.5 years and he is going through culture shock being back in mexico. its very different.
everytime we go to fancy areas or richer areas of cities he doesnt want to leave because hes used to that kind of areas in vancouver.
and he really doesnt like the food here anymore, he misses all the different asian cuisine in canada. haha

maybe he wont have to do an arc if its been one year since the deportation. i know of some cases of people who stayed illegal and after being deported for one year they didnt have to do the ARC, that would be very good news for you!.

thats true. at least now he will feel like hes a part of canada and welcome to live his life as he pleases. it will be amazing for him when he gets back! :D
we have alot of illegal friends in canada and i always hope they dont get caught because they have lives and families now. it would be so sad to see it torn apart :(

Yeah, when it's finally over it will be for the best. Did he end up finding a job? I just realized I asked my husband and he never got back to me. He was having some issue with his employer (not getting paid) at the time, but things seem to be good again.

He is still working at his Uncles restaurant, 100 pesos a day, so its not the best but at least its something, he is constantly looking for something better though !
