Oh man, I had never thought of that! >:(
I'll call CIC on Tuesday and see what they say about that! I know that for Mexico, we wait for CIC to ask for the police clearance, so maybe they'll ask for the FBI clearance at the same time?? That'd not be good 'cause I just checked the site and it says it takes 18 weeks to get it! No manches! Thanks anyways for the information, I'll make sure I have answers on Tuesday!

The FBI clearance takes 8 weeks in reality. You must submit it with your application and not later. Just leave the social security number blank no matter what anyone says - it will be processed fine.

Hi! I'm in the same situation, my fiancé was in the States illegally for more than 6 months and I'd like to know if CIC asked you for the FBI clearance and if they did, at what point in they did. Thanks!!

My husband has been illegal in the US since he was 9. Your fiancé MUST get FBI clearance. You must mail it with your application.

Ohhh man, that's just perfect, one more step to do???
Sorry for the attitude, but i really am getting fed up of all the stuff
they ask for... I understand why, but my gosh!
Weren't Canada n the States supposed to start sharing information on
Pple crossing the border? My fiancé was here 2 times before, I have
A hard time believing they'd let him in if he had a criminal record in the states!
Anyways, thanks guys! I'll get started on that tomorrow!! Our application is already
In mexico though..oh well...

I don't want Canada and the US sharing. I want Canada to be separate, personally. It makes sense - they don't want dangerous people. The FBI clearance is easy. It just takes time. But it will take a couple months to get the application ready. You can write a letter asking them to expedite. Include two sets of fingerprints in case one isn't good enough and include a prepaid return envelope so you get it faster. Don't get upset at the application requirements. Just get it done and be careful you get it right.

We got AOR from Mexico city today, by email!

In the letter it says that the average time from that office is 6 months.

Also says they are sending the instructions for the PGR today and if we don´t get the letter in 60 days to contact them.

One thing I am not sure of is that it says

¨To facilitate matching of documents requested, please attach a label with your file number
on the top right corner of each document that you sent to our office.¨

I´m asuming they made a mistake and meant to put ¨send¨ instead of ¨sent¨, right?

I'm glad you got your AOR! Does this mean they're just looking at your application for the first time? After 3 months?!

Hi!
Does anybody know where my fiancé can go to have his fingerprints taken in Mexico?
I hear that some people do it by themselves, but his fingertips are in pretty bad shape because
he's a carpenter, so we'd rather have a professional take 'em. PGR maybe? Thanks!

I think the local police station should be able to do it, he should go down there and ask.. probably the best place to start.

Hi! Congrats :)
I just wanna say a friend of mine just received the AOR too and it also said the processing time is 6 months!
Way better than 13 months! ;D She also got an email for the PGR step. The VO had her application since February 22nd.
They have mine since March 22nd so there's hope!! :D

Anyone know how much time there is between the AOR and PPR?
