Did anyone apply under common law, if so did you include a statutory declaration from a friend/family member??

My wife got the request for the constancia last friday in mail.
But she flew to Canada on the weekend on a tourist visa.
Does anyone know if we should still apply for "constancia" or the "informe"? her mom is planning to go get it.
I am confused as the website says if you are in Canada you need the informe. Does this apply to her is she is a tourist or should we get the constancia?

Thanks for your help.

We did not include a statutory declaration when we applied common-law, at the time it wasn't listed as a requirement in the guide. I have no idea if that has changed.

After we submitted, I got worried and sent along a document signed by a commissioner of oaths signed by family indicating we were living in a common-law relationship and the address where we were living. I have no idea if that helped.

If her mom is getting it in Mexico City, it is the constancia you want.

(Don't forget the fingerprints!)

Thanks. Yes today we got the fingerprints taken in Toronto and mailed it back to her mom to get the constancia.
The fingerprint company took digital prints and not ink. They said digital are accepted in Mexico too.
I hope its ok.

Can anyone recommend to me any Mexican emergency travel insurance providers. Those of you with spouses or are the spouse that waited in Canada while the PR was being processed, what company did you go with for emergency travel insurance?

Thanks.

I used this http://www.kanetix.ca/travel-visitors-to-canada

Thanks LV, that site actually offers some really economical prices! To be honest I do not know very much about insurance. What is a good amount of coverage in a country like Canada? 10,000, 15,000, 50,000 etc

i took 10,000...it really depends on how long it is for. If it is more than 6 months i would take 50,000 else 10 -25,000 is ok.

Hello,
Can anyone give me some comments?
I’m about to send my PR application (my husband will be my sponsor), also I will be applying to extend my TRV, (this will be the second time since I came last year on February), but now I want to apply for a work permit.
How can I apply for a work permit if I don’t have a job offer? What documents should I send with my application to suuport my request?
I’m Mexican with a Degree in Economics.
Thanks,

It depends, are you applying inland or outland to Mexico City?
