Please note that Apostille is not valid in Canada. It simply needs to be translated, and certificate of translation need to be produced. May i know if you and your spouse ( PA ) is staying in Canada, and for how long? There are 2 documents that PGR provides - "Constancia de datos registrales" and "Constancia de antecedentes registrales". One is for people who are abroad ( and you have to go through embassy ) and another is for people who live in Mexico. Applying PGR from/within Mexico is fastest, and you have to wait/request for letter from embassy.Jalisse said:Nartcr,
First we'll get it validated in Mexico. Then in Canada I will have it translated and then send it to CIC. So I'm guessing it's normal the PGR needs to be validated/stampted (apostillar el documento) in Mexico City before it's accepted by CIC.
Separate Question. About fingerprints we got those done by a private agency. Is this acceptable? The PGR said for them to do the fingerprints they needed a specific letter from CIC (like what we got for PGR request letter). However we never got a letter specifically for fingerprints.
