Guys,

I will be in Mexico City for the last week of November and I was wondering if I dont hear any news until this date If should just show up by PGR and ask for my Carta de datos registrales, translate it to English and delivered it in the embassy, if it's taking to long (more than 3 months) to get the letter using the fingerprints I am thinking if I could speed the process in that way or If I will just get the people in the embassy confused with the new PGR letter and at the same time they have my fingerprints in process...

I need some insight! I'm actually starting to get really worried that we aren't hearing anything from MCVO. I mean could it really be that our application is that straight forward? We paid all the fees upfront, we sent medical upfront, don't have to do a pgr, I have sent proof that we have been living together for over 2 years, and really my husband has never left the country... Opinions anyone? :-\

I know everyone is anxious about their application but we all need to be realistic. The last time I saw the numbers for Mexico VO only 20% of the applications were completed by 6 months and only 50% were completed by 12 months, with 80% completed in 18 months. So, there is a 50% chance my application and your application could take longer than one year to finalize. It's sad but true. Most of us won't be in Canada for Christmas!

Logic would say you must pass Eligibility before background checks would start. I mean why start security and criminality if the applicant is ineligible right? Once it goes to background checks it is out of the VOs hand and they have to wait for outside agencies to run their various checks. Me thinks Schedule A is the precursor to the security and criminality background checks starting. Checks could come back clean quickly or not.

Personally I am readjusting our expectation for an approval to January. If it happens before then it's a bonus. :-[

Hey guys...

Question... my wife is receiving the dumb PGR translation tomorrow and the package will be ready sometime around noon. We were wondering if she can personally drop the package in Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra 193, or it must be couriered to the Immigration section.

Anybody knows???

I think that is the correct attitude.... as far as I can tell PRs take around a year for SIMPLE cases, where no family members and an obvious relationship is the norm. Each family member and each "complexity" adds to the timeframe so it is better to plan near to CIC's 18 month estimation (plan between 12 to 18 months if you need to).

Expecting that you will get it before the 18 month average processing time will only add to your frustration. Don't do it.

The average is actually 10 months, as per the spreadsheet. 18 months would be like worst case scenario. Anyway, it looks like that average is going to increase this year. Has anyone ordered notes? :)

Not yet! Even though it would be interesting to do so, how do we order them, and what do they show?

Hello everybody,

Reading this last post brought me down..
I am ordering the notes as I speak.. I want to be realistic but I have hope..
and I do believe in miracles, and I want to believe that we are all going to hear back from CIC soon.
Stay positive, at 3 o'clock today Eastern time, let's make a special prayer all together.

"If you can imagine it, you can achieve it. If you can dream it, you can become it"
William Arthur Ward

Let's pray for the best!

You are correct Luna21 the spreadsheet average is 300ish days, though our numbers only represent 1-3% of the actual number of spousal PR applications the VO receives every month. However, because we are here we are smarter for it and prepare better applications which probably results in faster processing! ;) :D :p

If we don't receive PPR by the 15th of this month I will probably order GMCS notes for curiosity. It may be too soon as our file only went into process August 10th, so, 3 months ago, and perhaps we should wait until Dec 15th but I will likely do it anyway. I intend to order notes once we get DM so I can analyze the complete timeline. I think that will shed more light on how long the various stages of processing take...

Speedy Processing everyone!

Hi guys! Stay positive please!!! I'm pretty anxious as well, but we need to keep calm! I've been actually reading posts in another forum (May 2015 Outland app), and there are some people that already got PR (Ottawa office)...I guess Mexico VO is not the fastest!
For me, is even harder to get comparisons since I'm pretty much the only Chilean in this group...or that applied this year! I have no idea if they will ask for extra documents, if nationalities play a role in the processing time, etc...My hope is that since we are a visa exempt country (since November 2014 we don't need tourist visas to get into Canada), and that my app is very straightforward, that my application will be processed faster hahaha doesn't seem to work that away....Anyway, I'm hoping to get news before February, since my medicals expire between Feb 27th-March 5th (don't remember the exact day).

I also want to order those notes....I'm struggling with that consent form. It says that only Canadian citizens os Permanent Residents can order them is that correct? In the consent form, which part do I have to fill...A or B? I'm confused....My husband is the Canadian here so he will order the notes for me.
Thanks guys! Let's hope for the best...at the end, everything will come in time and we will all be in Canada in 2016!

Cheers!

Here is a link which describes the ordering process; http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/gcms-notes-inquiry-t368507.0.html

Here is a link to a sample (with some explanation provided); https://www.gcmsnotes.com/Sample_GCMS_File.pdf

It is the "official" record that shows the progress of your application. It includes notes from the officer(s) who process the application.

It is generally recommended to order these notes, if you desire, around 4 months after your application goes "in process" so that your file has some maturity and then truly may show you something worthwhile. It takes 30 days to receive the notes and does not affect the progress of your application. As I understand it you can order directly through the Canadian Government based on the first link I posted, but there are agencies through which you can also order the notes. Cost is $5 but can be free if you are in Canada (I believe).

Speedy Processing!

I thought visa-exempt country applications were processed in Ottawa... but obviously not. i don't "think" nationality has anything to do with application priority, rather applications are processed in order of date received.

I personally think it is too early for you to order notes but of course you can if you want. If you do please report your findings here. It would be very interesting.

Speedy Processing!

EDIT: I don't know if this helps you re Consent form but here it is anyway... http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/-t221537.0.html

Oh no I need to order them because I'm an extremely impatient person!! Waiting like this, with no info or not seeing any updates, is killing me!
My curiosity wins!
Okay, I'll share them when I get them...in a month or so.

Good luck to everyone!
