Tx dasher I have organized you into the main spreadsheet.

2 questions. 1. What is your destination in Canada on landing? 2. If you are not residing with your spouse and you are not residing in Canada, were the heck are you?? :P ::) ;D lol You don't have to answer that if it compromises your security, marriage, wellbeing in general, some kind of non-disclosure agreement... ;)

Thanks for being part of our group! You should hopefully be receiving some good news soon. You've been waiting too long since PGR submission!!
hey CANzanillo my destination in Canada is Vancouver, actually i was living in Vancouver with my partner, i was there with extensions of my visitor record but i had to come back to Mexico because my moms health issues and i needed it to be here, thats why im not living in Canada nor with my partner, i left Canada on May 2 but i never thought it would take this long to be able to come back to Canada.

The "Processing Times Family Sponsorship" date is the "Official" date that the CIC posts. You can mostly pay no attention to it. The important thing is that you received AOR and that they are working on your sponsorship as of May 29th. You may already have been approved and just haven't yet received your SA approval letter which they often MAIL to you instead of EMAILING it to you. In my case they mailed the SA letter to me in Mexico. It took 5 weeks to receive here in Manzanillo. Unless the sponsorship portion of your application is complicated, you should likely have already received SA. You can call the CIC (CPC Mississauga) to request information regarding the sponsorship decision. Call 613-944-4000, press 1 until you get to the "change of address" menu option, then press 0 to be transferred to a live person. From there they will ask you some security questions, including your UCI number, to confirm your identity... assuming you are the applicant or the approved representative.

Good luck and we wish you fast processing.

So I called CIC on Thursday (Thank you CANzanillo for the number) and they said:
-"oh, well your file has gone over the average processing days but I don't see any further document requests so it appears they have everything they need. I will put a note on your file so that it is not forgotten about"....
What does that mean??? How do they forget about a file... don't they have a process in place to make sure it doesn't happen? :( I'm hoping no news are good news and that I will be approved (they received my file on May 4th), but now I'm worried that it's sitting there because they can't decide. I was married before, 9 years ago and sponsored my ex husband, would that cause a delay?

As always, I wish everyone a speedy process :)

You're welcome! glad you got through to them ok. I think that administrative glitches cause delays, but in your case your previous sponsorship is likely causing extra scrutiny of your current application. I have only read that this can be the case, so it is a supposition on my part, but a plausible reason for the delay. At least they are documenting it...hopefully that speeds it up.

Good luck!

Hi all ! Im pretty sure my husbands application is about to be approved. We just received an email regarding Canadian Orientation Abroad. Has anyone done this ? It is not required so im wondering if it is worth it for him to go or not ?

We got the same e-mail today. I don't know if that's a sign that a decision is close or if it's just a bulk e-mail they send to everyone. Hopefully good luck is coming our way but I'm not getting excited yet.

Maybe OhCanadiana can shed some light on this. Are you aware of this letter and do you think that it means that a decision has been or will be made soon?

Excuse me C.sanz, you are not in the Excel spreasheet. Can I know when you started the process? It is just to compare. My husband wanted to know too. I am getting a little bit anxious!

The little bit I just read when I did a search seems to indicate the seminar is for approved applicants. I'm trying not to read too much into it but it looks like it could be a good sign. hopefully someone with more knowledge will comment.

Where and when is the seminar being held?

This is from the online application they sent us.

"COA orientation sessions are offered free of charge to all Family Class visa applicants".

It says free for all applicants it doesn't say for applicants that have been granted visa's. So it may just be a bulk e-mail.

OK, that helps to clarify things... TX

We started the process November 2013. We are one of the unlucky ones whose application has taken a long time!

A few days ago I finally got through to calling CIC. They said our file was sent out to Mexico Feb 23 and mexico said they received it may 28. I really hope this means that they've started working on it. Congratulations to everyone who have gotten their PR card and good luck to us all still waiting!! I hope we get some good news soon!!

Luna21

I put the AOR2 date in for CanadaHonduras1234 based on 2 things;

1. The above noted quote from CanadaHonduras1234 on June 9, 2015 where it is indicated that the embassy received the file.

2. I assume CanadaHonduras 1234 updated their timeline with the 06/23/2015 additional document request for FBI clearance.

That means they are working on the file, so I put 06/23/2015 as the AOR2 date. It may not be accurate, it could be the May 28 2015 date, so until/unless CanadaHonduras1234 can confirm it based on what the email? said, that's what I used...

In any case, it's a good sign that we are seeing some activity on our applications.

Fingers crossed!
