Well I have his Failed Ref but I know he got a paper when his PRRA was denied. Where that paper has gone nobody knows. I took your advice and just emailed my lawyer to request this document so there wont be any delays when they do ask for his ARC. Good God! What next??? Maybe I shouldn't ask that. lol :p

Because he will need to do an arc, mexico city has a bad habit of asking for document regarding the failed refugee case, so if you are like us and didn't have any of the paperwork, you will need to order it asap, as it takes about a month to get.
and I can almost guarantee that they will ask for some of the documents before approving the arc.
Hello Leisa, could you tell me how you got the PRRA documents? And which ones they asked for? (I'm going to Canada soon so it might be a good idea for me to get them) :) Thx!!

Hey,
sure we just typed up a formal letter
like the following, got my spouse to sign it and than I scanned it and I think I emailed it to them, or faxed it, I cant remember,
but if u go to the refugee office where u had ur hearing and everything at or get there info online and u can either mail the request to them or email or fax it.
that's all we did.
and than I called 1 week later to make sure they received it and it took about 3-4 weeks from when I sent it to when I got it back in the mail.

Refugee Board,

I am written to request a copy of some of my refugee documents.

I am doing a spousal sponsorship from outside Canada and need some of the documents to finalize my process.

The specific documents I am requesting are;

- The decision AND reasons of refugee protection refusal.

- Pre-removal risk assesment (PRAA) decision AND reasons of refusal

- Personal Information Form (PIF)

My information is;

*name here*

Client ID: ****-****

D.O.B: month/day/year

Refugee office: Vancouver

my current address :blah blah blah, mexico

Phone number: ******

I would like my documents sent to my Common-law spouses current residence in Canada

Her Information is as follows;

name

blah blah blah, canada

Cell: ******

Home: *****

Thank you so much for your time.

Hello all!

I have another question from part 3: Country specific instructions:

12.
NON-ACCOMPANYING FAMILY MEMBERS DECLARATION
If you have family members who do not intend to emigrate to Canada with you, you must submit a notarized statutory declaration with your application which:

What is this en how do I get it done? specially the part that says NOTARIZED.

In my case, it's just me being sponsored.

Thanks very much.

im not sure

does he have the chunk of paperwork of the reasons for decision (that states the reason why his refugee was denied) ?
and the reasons for decision for the prra (that states why the prra was denied)?

he would have got these while he was I Canada the first one shortly after his hearing was denied and the other one when he found out the prra was denied
I'm pretty sure we have all of this - we sent copies in with our application.

Are photocopies good enough to apply for ARC?

Basically you need a lawyer to craft the declaration and witness you signing it. They will then "notarize it" which is a signature/seal where they swear that you signed it in their presence.

yeah, they just asked us for copies, so we sent them the copy and kept the original for ourselves.

Awesome, thanks!

I hate how long this is taking...

It has almost been 3 months since I got sponsorship approval... 24 days since I followed up with the Embassy with an enquiry to ask if they received our application and remind them about our prepaid shipping label for the PGR request letter... still no AOR!!!

LeisaP, I know you said they won't release any info to the sponsor but shouldn't they at least be telling me that? And why no AOR? I guess 3 months is still normal... :s

the first time i sent it with my (sponsors) info, they never wrote back, so like 20 days later i sent an email again with my info, than they finally wrote back and told me they couldnt release any info to me because i was the sponsor, and that if i needed info they needed confirmation it was from the applicant. so than i finally emailed again with applicants email and they wrote back in 15 days.

but its not uncommon for them to not even write back, ive seen it happen quite often! its really frustrating!.
u should be getting ur aor any day now!

i was just thinking the same thing about it taking so long, its been almost 4 weeks since we sent our last documents to the embassy and nothing yet. tomorrow i am going to send a case specific if we dont get ppr. we are very tired of waiting, it is just taking a ridiculously long time!

Thanks so much, Leisa. I'll ask my hubby to send another one tonight.

YOU have been waiting a long time! I totally feel your frustration... it's time for your PPR!!!

BTW - on a side topic, I know you got the precartilla but didn't go for service. Do you have any plans to try and wrap the process up via the Embassy in Canada so there's no way it can be a problem in the future? Or will you just forget about it?

Hi everyone, next Thursday (unless I receive PPR before then) I will be sending a Case Specific Enquiry to the Mexico VO because at that point our application will be past processing time. Any ideas on how I can word this email so that they will take it seriously and hopefully respond to it promptly? Any suggestion would be helpful. thank you!

No, well just forget about it. I know they excuse u if u immigrate out of mexico anyways. So there shoulddnt be any problems in the future cuz u will be a resident or citizen of canada. They dont really care after that.

So i was talking to a friend and apparently its important to get that document from the embassy if u ever want to move back and work in mexico some day.

So thats something to consider. We have no plans to move back except for a vacation home,
So we probably wont do it. But im pretty sure u can get it at any time. So if in the future u want to ever move back u can get it than.
