Oh I hear ya. I think I'm officially the Mexico thread Grandma ::). Everybody who started with me is looooong gone. By the time I finally get around to announcing PPR, the posters on here will be like, "and who are you"?

I am holding on to optimism because (a) I'm leaving for Mexico in a few weeks to be with my husband for a nice long visit; (b) it ain't over 'til its over.
I will be here until you get your PPR! =)

Yes I'm well aware of the appeals. For every person waiting, there is always someone else who has been waiting longer. Which is why its good to have a place like the forum to come to for encouragement and morale support. Good luck with your process - hopefully you are done soon after such a long wait!

I'm still lurking the forum and giving you all the support I can. Just remember "If Edgar made, then I sure as hell will make it!" I got my SIN today :)

thanks for your kind words. I think things are getting better in Mexico now. I have always been fearful to travel there......but I cant stand being apart from my partner anymore. Even though we won our Appeal, he still cant come here. Where's the compassion ?

You time will come! Your timeline is somewhat similar to mine and I'm already happily in Canada (Soon your hubby will be too). If you have any questions let me know :)

Yes Edgar. I have discussed your timeline with my partner and it does give us hope. My member of Parliament tells me, our case will be processed Feb 2013. In any event....welcome to Canada..... we are glad to have good people come here. For you to come watch those still suffering shows what a good person you are. Your partner is lucky to have you !!

My hubby has picked up the DHL package, since yesterday was a holiday in Mexico DHL was closed. He will be landing this friday!

So it took one week for the package to get sent to the embassy, then returned and back to my hubbys hands.

mc1234 - Congratulations 8)

mrandmrsromero - hopefully you'll be up soon too. You've seen many batches go by since you joined the the thread a couple years ago and still manage to stay upbeat. Just means there will be many more people cheering for you as you did for them over the last two years ;D

edgarsitow - how is Canadian PR life? Skin still sensitive from lack of beard/mustache?

gsize - hang in there. Now that your case is back in process, hopefully things go quickly for you.

thanks for your kind words. I cant do much here but pop my meds and wait. I know I will together with my Mexican soon !

I just noticed the Mexico City processing time went from 12 months to 13...that really sucks! I'm approaching 3 weeks since they received my file and 2 weeks since they received my medical...

I think this might take a while?

hard to say.... the 13 months you read is for completion of 80 % of the cases.....That doesnt mean yours will take that long. However, if your case is denied you will have the option to Appeal (for this...the timeline is very long and too depressing) Stay strong and positive !

The average time till PPR for recent applicants has been between 6 and 8 months. Everyone that has received a letter from the embassy has had it say the average time is 6 months, so dont take it to heart, the CIC website is not the best source of information.

Hi OC! I'm wondering about BC the ICBC website says the primary ID cannot be the COPR, I have the drivers abstract (translated) but with no proper primary ID I guess we have to wait for the PR card.

It looks like they are limiting use of the new CIC forms given the reduction in security features. I'd given them a call and ask them if they would accept your foreign passport as proof of identity in conjunction with your CoPR so you don't need to wait several weeks for the PR Card. It may help to explain that that combination it is acceptable for the SIN card, for example, and ask for their counsel.

what letter from the Embassy? and approximately when do they receive it?

this is what I received a few weeks back:

We received your application to sponsor XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX on October 5, 2012.

We started processing your application on November 2, 2012.

We sent you a letter on November 6, 2012 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

so to kill a few birds with one stone...I was accepted to sponsor...and of course I am honest and have been with my wife for 3.5 years although we got married in May...I was wondering what could stop us? we sent 50 photos from our travels (to over 25 US cities as well as at my home and her home with our children...and both our families) along with general information...hahaha...funny enough the first photo we sent was from her and I 17 years ago...we dated but couldnt communicate well...long story!

back to the letter...is the letter you are talking about different from what I am refering to above?

If they just approved your sponsorship you will have a few months before it reaches the VO. Ours was approved on Sep 11th and we have not received an AOR from the embassy of yet. Some people here have received on in a month and others in 3 months. The letter indicating the 6 month wait is from the VO, so far most people have had to wait 5 to 6 months before a PPR request after recieving a AOR from the VO.

I just sent the PGR to the embassy since it was due the 24th. I still havent gotten my husband´s questionnaire..He UPS´ed it last tuesday and its not here yet so I hope my process doesnt get delayed by this. They asked for everything to be preferebly sent together.

My due date for all is Dec 9th....I feel like I´m so close now!!

From the RMCP website If you are OUTSIDE OF CANADA :

contact the nearest police force which offers fingerprinting services. The RCMP will accept fingerprint forms from foreign countries that contain the following:

rolled and flat impressions of all ten fingers taken with black ink
full name, date of birth and sex of the applicant
the name and address of the police agency
the signature of the official taking the fingerprints

Check it out http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cr-cj/fing-empr2-eng.htm It guides you step by step on how to get them and all the information you have to mail.
