Yeah but we don't want the extra hassle of having to get a visa for the US just to get a connecting flight. But yeah that would be nicer. :)

Makes sense. You could travel to the US just to exit and arrange go arrive in Vancouver around when he does if there's a good fare around his landing date ... *wishing you to participate too in person*

A carta poder is a letter giving someone else the right to have access to certain type of information only available to the applicant. If he goes to a papeleria he can buy it there and he´ll just have to fill in the blanks.

The military documents is the cartilla liberada

lol, right, I am getting all these cartilla things mixed up, perhaps time I learn some more spanish besides swearing lol !

I think you're right too, a trip to Mex city it is. My wife spoke to the guy at the GDL office and he said he's frequently issuing them for people using them for CIC he never hears back so obviously we don't know if they get rejected and I don't want to find out lol...

Okey dokey, DF it is, we will just wait to get our letter then and send him up to DF for a few days :)

That's our plan too, she's gonna wait for the PGR one and then head to el DF get the SSP and hopefully get it the same day so she can drop it off at the embassy... and here we though we could avoid that trip lol ... oh well another step closer... we'll see how long it takes the embassy to reply to the ones that have sent the police certs in, hopefully not too long.

My husband went to get the pgr today. They said it should be ready by the 20th or 21.
Yay! :D

There's going to be a flurry of PPRs soon!! I can't wait - it's so exciting. it's been a month and I still can't believe we are in Canada. I feel relieved each time I think of it. I look forward to hearing how all the Mexican husbands do. Mine is starting to feel comfortable here. He's actually excited for winter and so am I! Fall has already started with dried leaves on the ground and changing colors.

I'm trying to find direct to Calagry, from Mex City as well, but haven't found it yet. Best so far is direct to Vancouver and then to Calgary. But that's still better than connecting in the US.

I usually fly USairways to Edmonton

Yes, the next batch must be coming up soon!

It's great to hear that your settlement is going so well :). I love the four seasons. The nip in the air at night and the colorful leaves that are starting to show are so pretty!

There are no direct flight from Mexico city to Calgary. There used to be when Mexicana was still running but that´s gone now. :(

There is air canada flights to Vancouver and then to Calgary...so at least you don´t have to stop in the states.

Also a couple of months ago I went to ask in a Mexicana office and they said they were getting their stuff organized to reopen in a few months...so that might be something worth watching out for!

I will check for that. I saw AC connect through Vancouver.. that might be an option.

hey CHULADAA.
I just called the refugee board in vancouver, and the lady was so polite.
she told me the same things you were told,
just write a written request with the client id, d.o.b, name etc. and fax it to their office, it might take a couple days to find it because they will pull it from the archives.

and no fee aswell.

so this sounds so much more simple than what i was doing before.

:D

Thats great! thanks for letting me know! Were you able to fax in the letter?
My husband spoke with his mom in Mexico City she found some papers but she doesnt understand them because they are in english/french she is going to send them to him tomorrow. So there is a chance the decision and reasons could be in there. If not I will fax off the letter next week.
