They gave it to everyone in the group that got in with me except for me and another guy. They didnt say why, just gave us a paper saying to come back in 10 days and no information will be given by phone.

Do you have anything on your criminal record?
Or maybe the information didn't pop up right so they need to get it a different way?
That's weird..

I didnt get the SSP letter, they didnt give me any reason why, they just said to come back to get it in 10 days.

Has this happened to anyone before?? Im so frustrated right now, i cant come back so i'll have to check if one of my friends can pick it up for me.....

Edgarsitow, i didnt even make it near the embassy today.

I'm sorry to hear that. It didn't happen to me personally, but when I went to get mine, two guys had the same problem.

My guess is either you either have something on your record (but you would know this), you can't be found on the system, or there's a duplicate.

I think my hubby told me that when he went a few people were told to come back in 10 days because they had something on their record...

Do you have anything on yours?

Has anyone been following the ARC process from various members here? I'm wondering what's the current average processing time. I'm also wondering if there have been any refusals. Appealing this crap would S-U-C-K!

LOL You would think that the PR approval (since you are already approved) would trump the ARC no??

The ARC used to be just a formality (read: money making scheme) but there was an article a year or so ago that said CIC was being "tougher" on issuing ARCs. Sort of as a way to "teach you a lesson" which resulted in some ARCs being refused and requiring an appeal. An ARC should always be granted if there are "compelling reasons" and a bona fine marriage is ALWAYS a compelling reason (always keeping in mind that the security of Canada and Canadians isn't compromised by granting an ARC).

Given all of this, CIC Mexico can "refuse" the ARC just to piss you off and "teach you a lesson" which would then have to appealed to the IAD, which would allow the appeal automatically because there's a bona fide marriage, but who's gonna give you back that year or more that took to get a hearing with the Immigration Appeal Division? Get it?

Sorry if I'm ranting. It's just one of my paranoid mood swings (I'm a Cancer, woops)

You're making me paranoid for you!! :) Try not to stress about it. You've done your best, it's out of your hands now. I would hope that after you've already appealed a decision and it was over turned.. they wouldn't deny it.. knowing that would be over turned too... but as I'm writing it I know it's not true. I won't say "hope for the best" because you've probably been told that 100 times already, but everyone is rooting for you!! You're sooooo close!! You will get there! One way or the other!!

Edgar.

I have been following about 4-5 people on the forum, and all of them had the arc granted, average time 2.5 months if they were asked at the end of the process.

but one was asked at the begining and it took 6 months, the case may have been more complicated im not sure.

but 2-2.5 months seems about standard right now and all ive been watching have gotten approved.

:D

That gives me some hope :D I do believe this is the last step. Let's hope it's only 2.5 months! :)

hmm well thats good at least!! its definatly not something like that.
probably they couldnt find the name, or it was a double or something and they are usually to busy to look into it right there, so they need some time to figure it out.

well it will be fine than, just sucks you couldnt pick it up!. at least you have a friend who can get it for you :)

HEY!

I asked and they said anyone who had a letter signed by me and my documents could pick it up.
