Hi everyone - I have a quick question! (Edit: Nevermind I found it!) I am looking for that Mexican restaurant and store in Toronto as we are headed there today. I tried a search and browsing through the Mexico thread but I cannot find it. Can someone give me an address please? Thanks!

Anyhoo, if I may suggest a very nice though small Mexican restaurant (prepare him for the sticker shock!), it's called Milagro, on Queen St. west. The food was excellent, and the atmosphere was definitely festive. I'll go back.

Canadiangirl, I know you already found the answer to your question but I really recommend the Mexican store 'La Tortilleria' they have four different locations and make fresh tortillas daily, plus they have every kind of mexican product you can imagine! Your hubby will love it

Yep we went there! It was cute. We bought some tortillas and will go back for sure. Nothing at ALL like the Mexican stores in California though! Too bad I don't know how to cook anything Mexican or I would have really taken advantage!

Well, we sent hubby's passport on Friday. Now begins the wait for them to affix the visa and return it. He is very nervous waiting for it. I told him to relax
The letter says that it takes from 1 - 2 weeks to process it if we do it via courier (versus in person- same day).

That is exciting! We also mailed it on a Friday. They got it Monday and mailed it back Friday and we would have gotten it Monday but we were out of town so we got it on Tuesday. So they are fast.

It's funny how the first thing you do is look for a Mexican store lol. I've already found a place in Calgary that makes tortillas.. I'm hoping they will take mail orders.. lol Tortillas seem to be the staple food.. so if we have that.. we should be good

Very exciting! Hopefully it isn't too hard to find work. We aren't there yet, so much to do first! We still feel like we are just here on vacation.

I don't know if all grocery stores are like this but we found a TON of flour tortillas (I grew up calling them burrito shells lol) but zero corn tortillas. We bought some fresh ones today though.

He likes it. The first couple of days were a bit traumatic because of having to say good bye to everyone back home. That was hard. I know he still feels he is on vacation. I don't know if it has hit him yet.

That list includes Milagro, which I just mentioned Also includes Pachuco, which is right near my place and which I'll go try when I have something to celebrate, such as a promotion at work (they keep teasing me with it). Pachuco happens to be next to Embrujo Flamenco, a tapas place (both owned by the same people, it seems). Last, I've heard great things about El Trompo.

I haven't noticed anyone on this thread getting thier PGR at a state office. It was just recently I found out that it was even an option. I copied the info that Chulada posted from her AOR letter, and I guess on that link it still says you have to go to Mexico City. Which I think is just the link to the PGR website. So maybe the website isn't updated. I can't read Spanish

My husband got his at the Veracruz state office! He didn´t have to go to Mexico city for anything (for the PGR). They did the fingerprints and everything in Veracruz, took about an hour for all of the fingerprints.

And it was a lot faster than in mexico city! Mexico city is 10 business days I think, and here it took about 5 days.

There is a place called Boca Loca in Calgary that sells mexican ingredients and stuff! I haven´t been there myself yet, but I hear it´s really good!
