I have a question...maybe someone can help!

On our COPR it says city of destination: Calgary. But we are actually going to Edmonton.

We were planning on going to Calgary at first but when this changed we informed the embassy with our new address and everything.

The adress is correct except they put country instead of county.

Do you guys think that the city of destination and the small mistake in the address matters? Can we just correct it when we land or should we contact the embassy and get it fixed here?

Not big deal right now. JUST BE SURE TO CORRECT the ADDRESS when you land with the officier because this is the address they send the PR card to..... so if the address is wrong you will NOT get your PR Card in a timely manner

Ok i have a question , does this ssp things applies to all the applicants? Because we applied in october 2011, and are still waiting. We did give them pgr document and the police state clearence. Will they ask us for ssp or not? Because I don't want them to delay the process more, should I give them before they ask for it or what should I do? Thnx in advance n congrats to all who got their ppr

That´s what I did and I think it helped mine move along much faster!

Ours was submitted Dec 2011, with the state police certificates and also handed in PGR (before they made the SSP requirement)

They did ask some people that already handed in the state ones for the new SSP certificate, even though it wasn´t required at the time they submitted the application!

If you are in Mexico city I would definitely recommend getting the SSP and handing it in with a letter explaining why you are handing it in before they even ask for it. It´ll speed things up probably by a month or so.

Ok thanks! I think I´ll write them an email and ask just in case. We will for sure get the address fixed at the airport though.

Does anyone know colonias in mexico city that are safe and nice to live in??

Congrats on th job offer It would help if you can share where the job is so that folks point you to areas that are relatively close (you don't want to be commuting across the whole DF!)

Awesome! Unfortunately there aren't any nice neighbourhoods near the airport. It's located in the East end and the rule of thumb is that the nicer colonias tend to be in the west and south of the city. I live in Roma which has a hipster/bohemian vibe. I'm in love with my neighbourhood, there are tons of restaurants, little cafés and just about anything you can imagine, very safe as well. It comes at a relatively hefty price tag though. Rents in Mexico City are very expensive when compared to the rest of the country, so depending on the salary and how much you're willing to spend, I can recommend something suitable to your needs. It takes me 30 minutes to get from Roma to the Airport (one highway takes you all the way to the entrance!).

It takes me around 40 - 50 minutes. There are many options to get there, but the fastest one is always the metro. The airport is located in "Terminal Aerea" on the yellow line. Here's a map:

The closest stations to Roma are Sevilla, Insurgentes and Chilpancingo. Whenever I go to the airport I just take the Metrobus (BRT bus lane) all the way to "La Raza" metro station (green/yellow line) and then I take the metro to Terminal Aerea. Here's to having it work out edgarsitow's given you a good start on the colonias to consider. If you decide to get a car (or if he gets one loaned), keep in mind that the commute gets rally heavy toward the airport so if he's working the morning shift, he'd want to go suuuper early to avoid sitting in traffic for a while.
