haha, yep he really doesnt know what he is in for ! He would only work in the spring and summer months and would be able to come back for a visit every couple months, so it wouldnt be that bad, but he can make up to $50,000.00 just for 5 to 6 months out of the year, so it could be really good for us so we can save up and build a house and get settled.
Oh wow! I can't imagine my husband working in the Yukon. What do they do? That is good money! We are headed to Ontario and he really enjoys construction management. I am so anxious to go but then I get stressed out thinking - what if he doesn't find a job?

we are still trying to show his family how canada really is. and not igloos and stuff so weve showed them tons of pictures and videos. and his brother and mom would both love to go to Canada now.
even for Canada day his family surprised me with BBQ ribs, mashed potatoes, and beer. a truly canadian BBQ. it was nice to see them all interested in Canada and they all wore there Canadian tshirts we brought as gifts :)
Oh my goodness, that is so awesome and cute that they did that, love it ! Sounds like you have found yourself a wonderful family there :)

Oh that is so sweet! We went to the park for a vegetarian BBQ for Canada Day and my toddler wore her Old Navy Canada flag tshirt. Everyone else was there celebrating the fourth of July early since it fell on a Wednesday. My husband was like, "All these people have no idea they are celebrating Canada Day, SUCKERS!" LOL. My husband hasn't been to Canada but seen lots of pictures. He knows it is similar to the US but is already shopping North Face for winter gear, lol. So my husband isn't as Mexican as everyone else's but it will still be an adjustment.

For him it would be cement finishing, but in general the construction industry is going crazy in the Yukon, they are having a major boom out there and no one to fill the jobs so they are desperate. About 5 of my home town friends have moved up there now and are loving it, they have all made ridiculous amounts of money and say that there is tons and tons of jobs, the only problem is housing because they are currently building it lol !

That's cool. I use to live in Nunavut when it was booming.. and the same problem with housing. I'm sure the Yukon is nicer. You can see now why I want to get away from Canadian winters!! I have always lived in very cold places! :)

In one word.. Remote! I lived in the capital and it had only 6,000 people, with no roads outside of the city. You had to fly anywhere else. It was quite an experience.. but good jobs and money etc..

Has anyone had any experience or known someone who's PR app was rejected because they didn't feel the marriage was genuine? I know you can appeal if you do, but this is in the back of my mind, since my husband and I didn't have a long relationship before getting married. We spent two months together right before we get married, and then a couple of 7 - 10 days since we met a year and a half ago. I sent in Skype records, what boarding passes I had saved, photos and copies of my passport stamps for proof. But I'm worried it won't be enough. I'm going again in one week, and will save that boarding pass too just in case.

Ok I know I am obsessing but I also don't think my husband's address said United States of America at the bottom before. I wish I had taken a screen shot in the first place. I wonder why they fixed the address. What are they working on? Ahhh I want to know!

How about wedding photos? I think they base a lot on the wedding. That is all I tried to prove. I sent in a few pre-marriage letters and emails but everything else was engagement, wedding, and honeymoon pictures.

I would not worry. If they do doubt the marriage, you can prove it at the interview. My bet is you will get the interview waived.
