mrandmrsromero said:Good news: our CAS was updated for the first time today. Message now reads: "we received xxx's application for permanent residence on November 10, 2010. Medical results have been received". It does not say anything about "in process" yet, but hoping soon. Anyone else have updates to report?
Our file is set up so that mail correspondence is to go to my husband in Mexico City. I'm wondering now if we should have used my address in Canada. Although I guess it really doesn't matter in the end if the service of choice for the Mexico City office is MexPost!mikeyvr said:You could be living in one address but you want your mail and all correspondence to a different address , so if you want all the paperwork and mail to be send to your sponsor then , add his address there.
We used my wife's (sponsor) mailing address in Canada , We trust the canadian post office more than the mexican onemrandmrsromero said:Our file is set up so that mail correspondence is to go to my husband in Mexico City. Even though the mail service in Canada is better, the letter will be using Mexican Post to reach Canada. Mine took 5 weeks to arrive from Mexico City to Toronto. The Embassy doesn't bother sending expedited/tracked envelopes. I would definately use a mailing address in Mexico, saves you around 2-3 weeks of wait.mikeyvr said:We used my wife's (sponsor) mailing address in Canada , We trust the canadian post office more than the mexican one

Like I said, the letter will end up using the Mexican Post anyway, at the point when it will be leaving from the Embassy in Mexico City.mikeyvr said:Some Places in Mexico doesnt have employees from the post office itself, All the mail from Mexico City to Vancouver took 2 weeks to arrive and most of the information they will be sending you would be by email, if the sponsor lives in Canada I will think is best for you to use your Canadian address
