FED EX, UPS and DHL all provide both domestic and International Service from with in Mexico.

There are other private companies like Multipak

Do not send anything via SEPOMEX Correos de Mexico (Mexpost) !

Here in Mexico we do not even get bills (electric, water, cable tv, Bank statements) delivered by mail. It all comes by a private service)

Hi All,
I got a question, I am a bit confused with this: regarding the form APPLICATION FOR PERMANENT RESIDENCE IN CANADA IMM 008, question 14.-mailing address; is that my partners canadian address or my address in mexico? and for 15.- residential address, I understeand that is the address where I am currently living in mexico, am I correct?

You could be living in one address but you want your mail and all correspondence to a different address , so if you want all the paperwork and mail to be send to your sponsor then , add his address there.

Good news: our CAS was updated for the first time today. Message now reads: "we received xxx's application for permanent residence on November 10, 2010. Medical results have been received". It does not say anything about "in process" yet, but hoping soon. Anyone else have updates to report?

MexPost: 2 YEARS!!!!!?????? Thanks for the heads up on that one. Hearing this, I will do my best to avoid using MexPost to send anything.

USE DHL < UPS < FED EX , within Mexico USE ESTAFETA they all have tracking numbers. best way to do it

Our file is set up so that mail correspondence is to go to my husband in Mexico City. I'm wondering now if we should have used my address in Canada. Although I guess it really doesn't matter in the end if the service of choice for the Mexico City office is MexPost!

Even though the mail service in Canada is better, the letter will be using Mexican Post to reach Canada. Mine took 5 weeks to arrive from Mexico City to Toronto. The Embassy doesn't bother sending expedited/tracked envelopes. I would definately use a mailing address in Mexico, saves you around 2-3 weeks of wait.

Some Places in Mexico doesnt have employees from the post office itself, All the mail from Mexico City to Vancouver took 2 weeks to arrive and most of the information they will be sending you would be by email, if the sponsor lives in Canada I will think is best for you to use your Canadian address

Like I said, the letter will end up using the Mexican Post anyway, at the point when it will be leaving from the Embassy in Mexico City.
It is true, most of the information is sent through email, but for example, the original letter to get the PGR Police certificate has to be sent through regular mail.

I don't really know much about the Mexican Post and which places it does/does not reach, but I guess it's something to consider. Major cities (state capitals) should not have any problem.

Yeah, I think I will leave it as it is for now if most correspondence is going to be by email anyway. I guess it will be a crap shoot as to how long it takes him to receive a letter with instructions for the federal police certificate. Oh well. We will continue to hurry up and wait. Thanks for the input!

The PGR letter to request the police certificate was sent to me by email from the embassy with instructions on how to get it , i printed mine and sent it along the fingerprints and the photos.
