Good day everyone. I have been reading all the posts on this forum for the past few months however never commented. You all have been very helpful in providing insight to this process and my partner and I really appreciate it. It is definitely a stressful experience for sure. I notice that the process is a bit different for everyone depending on their current issues/status. I was a bit shocked that our application was sent to the Mexico VO though. We thought for sure it would go to the Trinidad VO as my spouse is from there.
Here is our timeline:

Sent to Sydney: March 1, 2019
Package received and signed for: March 6, 2019
AOR letter: April 5, 2019
Bio-metrics request: April 18, 2019
Bio-metrics completed: April 24, 2019
Approved as sponsor: April 23, 2019
Medical request: April 24, 2018
Medical completed: May 7, 2019
Medical received by CIC: May 13, 2019 (updated on ecas)
Application forwarded to Mexico: October 4, 2019
Application started processing (according to Ecas): October 28, 2019. No AOR2 received yet

I am hoping that it won't be much longer but you never know with this process as you receive communication and then dead silence for months.

I'm assuming that the cause is due to my citizenship (Venezuela).

• In case an Interview is required, are they only conducted in the Mexico VO ? Or can they be at any VO office where the PA resides.

• Is there any whatsapp group for Mexico VO?

Hello, welcome to this forum your application was transferred to Mexico because that is the country that processes most LatinAmerican applications. In the case of the interview, it is carried out in Mexico or in Bogota, it is your choice.

no way, if you have so much time in the USA it is strange that you have not been transferred to Mississauga, anyway your application was transferred quickly, mine took 8 months. Surely they do not ask you for an interview, they have not asked me for any additional documents for now, even the criminal records are good.

the application status also is shorter

I guess the estimation of remaining was too wrong and they were tired to get messages out of it lol

Was cool to see this bar been filled having an idea of when it's gonna be done lol (even if this bar meant nothing in reality, was just the 12 months count). I am at 15 weeks here.

They are definitely not making it easier on us. This is the first time I am completing this process and hopefully the last but I find the process inconsistent and sluggish given the technology we have today. I do understand that they are working as fast as they can given limited resources however it's not very efficient. However all we can do is wait.

well i guess after all this is done we should send some comments about how we lived this period and what shall be improved.

The status bar is probably gone because of all the high expectations from us on actually having it done in 12 months hahaha how dare we assume this
I have a feeling come 2020 these wait times are going back to 16-18 months
