What does application assignment mean? Mine was 7/17

I don't know but speculating I think is the next date when they'll check the application and re assigned it to somebody else!? I hope someone else can clarify that. Yours was 7/17?. Have you received any update or being requested any documents?

They requested docs (canadian police check as hes been here more than 6 months) on july 10 and they received them on july 18.... doesnt make sense to me lol

I wanted to update you guys on my wife's application as i finally got the cic messege i been waiting for, they asked for her passport. just heads up i didn't get an email they sent the messege directly to myCiC account . Here is my time line.

1. application for permanent residence on September 30, 2016.
2. started processing application on January 19, 2017.
3. Re send medicals and , police clearance May 20 they asked for them may 11.
4. July 24, 1017 - Corfirmation of pemanance.

Thanks and I'm very happy we both are the wait was long ... she's from El Salvador .. I forgot to mention that her background check went in progress today and I also got the message today. So that was quick .

I don't really know what to say, sometimes we think that the things or process has to follow some pattern but it seems that one can never tell what exactly is happening!

Once you hit the 7-8 month you start to get impatient But I agree it's not bad . Our case was strait forward thou, never married, no kids , she only lived in one place her whole life. Best of luck to you aloaleja

Noticed my Review of additional documents was different today. It changed from:
We need additional documents to process your application. Check your messages below for details.

To: We need more documents to continue processing your application. We will send you a message with more details.

This is such a pain I have a feeling it is going to be the Police Certificate as we sent a scanned copy instead of original but they responded with no further action required (as in they accepted it). GCMS notes showed received.
If not then it could be the IMM 5604 - Declaration from non-accompanying parent. Even though GCMS notes showed they canceled this.

thats really annoying... when you click on "View Submitted Application", do you have options to upload anything? this may give you an indication of what they are looking for

have you ordered your notes? does ECAS say anything?
