Hi i get married with a canadian in mexico im going to start with the process of my permanent residence and i dont know what do i have to do with the marriege certicate do i have just het a copy in the registro civil and traslate it or do i have to take it to the canadian consul in my city or maybe send it to the canadian embassy??? I´m desperate for help somebody can help me out??

Well the regional guide for Latin America says on page 2

"If your documents are not in English or French, include an accurate translation with a copy of the originals. Failure to do so could result in substantial processing delays."

so I would say anything that you are sending, including your marriage certificate, needs to have a translation attached if it is not in English or French.

PS the guide also says : Send photocopies only of all other documents, unless instructed otherwise. So there is no need to send the original certified official copy. You may want to take another look at the Latin America region guide.

Does somebody form Mexico who already did that ????

Hi wooera!

Huron's right. You should follow exactly what the guide says. A simple photocopy of the original marriage certificate and a certified translation of it will suffice.

Thanks Huron and bonbon for your help !! really apreciated!!! now abusing of your help how did you guys send the pictures and everything cause in the forms ask for them in my forms, in the sponsor forms, so shuld i put them in all in a file i mean the pictures, telephone bills, letters, or how did you guys did it?

Yes I put everything (Sponsor app, applicant app, additional proof, medical, police report, applicant immigration photos, etc) in the order of the check list and sent it FedEx from here in Mexico to Mississauga. The whole packaged weight 1.8KG and everything was in there.... In our case the sponsor and the applicant are living in Mexico together for more than 6 years. If your sponsor is in Canada then you should send your part of the application back to you sponsor so that they can send it to Mississauga.
