Members of the forum who sought help from their MP

Hello guys! I need your help! I want to gather some testimonials of people who sought help from their MP's. The reason being is that I phoned the office of our MP here in St. Albert, AB. and the secretary or the "GATEKEEPER" didn't even bother to just book an appointment for us to talk to the MP because for her our case is not a big deal. All I want is to seek a LITTLE help. Just want our MP to inquire about our standing on the spousal sponsorship. (is that hard to do?)

My background story is that we submitted our PR application on Nov. 2010 and then Vegreville transferred our file to the Edmonton Office on Oct. 2011 without AIP and OWP. Submitted MORE proofs that our marriage is genuine (5 submissions) from Nov- March ....but still no update..

I know many people from the forum asked help from their MPs, maybe we have the same situation or even not, I want to gather information on to what extent an MP gave HELP to his people.

Pls. indicate:

1.LOCATION/ NAME or even Initials of MP

2. What Kind of help sought from MP?

3. What did the MP do about the problem?

4. How fast was the action about the problem?


I am thinking of writing a letter to our MP and include this Topic on the Letter and I will say....

"hey here are true stories of people who sought help from their MPs, If they were able to ask help why can't I?

Before submitting my application, I talked to my MP and sadly I got the exact same response you did. The "secretary" said that MP's do not have any control or say to help at all. Which confused me. I'd be interested to hear what others say that got their MP's to help them!

Yes they don't have control but THEY CAN ASK.... We are not asking them to speed up the application, we just want the MP to ask if how was it? After the transfer we submitted TONS of PROOF! I want to know , do they want more? It's not hard to ask right? If I only have the power I will do it myself
