eyeoftheocean - God I hope you're right! That would be a HUGE relief! We were envisioning like $200 - $300 lol. I hate that this whole process makes you so paranoid! We haven't sent off our application yet. We hope to get it done in the next two weeks!

ljane - Yeps, we know that. The husband printed it out and took a copy to work for the numbers of the doctors he's going to call.
Noooooooooo its not a bad price , and if theres anything seriously wrong with you the doc will inform you , but being your from near my home town you are of perfect stock :D so don't worry its not that expensive lol

I only have the one message thread in there lol. From you :)
weird it sas you have to empty you inbox , anyway heres the msg .

why do you keep going to the border , just apply for a visitor extension till you apply for your PR ? its only $75.00 ...then once youve been approved as a sponser you can apply for an open work permit which covers you for 1 year including extension to stay for $150.00. :)

Yeah, we weren't made aware of the fact that we could get an extension till last time we went to the border. But the guys at the border last time said that when we go back in October, I can apply for an extension then, which makes no sense because I'll have implied status at that point anyway. Hubby said he feels that the guard was trying to 'scare us into doing the right thing'

It is bizarre! But I think it all depends on the border guard you get lumped with. In all honesty, he wasn't bad, just doing his job and all that, but yeah, it was a tense time.

Hi there, I'm new to this forum and just have a quick question. My husband and I have been married for a year (He's Canadian, I'm British), and we're planning on posting in application for permanent residency (inland) real soon.

We've heard that you don't need to have the Medical checks done before you send off your application, but on the checklist for the application, it says you need to provide proof of a medical check, or the application will be returned for being incomplete. So, which is the best way to do it?

Do we need to get my medical done before sending in the application or not? I really would like to know so that we have less chance of the application being returned for being incomplete.

Many thanks.
You should definately apply outland, much much quicker!! And you can be in canada aswell so you wouldnt have to be apart. Its the way to go! Thats what i've done!

I paid $200 total for my medical, so I guess I got screwed. It was all good though. (I'm a lancashire girl, so I guess i'm of good stock too :) )
Hope you get your application all sorted and ready for posting soon. It was such a relief for me when I finally posted it!

I paid £210 total for my medical, so I got even more screwed and that was the cheapest one within about 50 miles of Leeds!

Hubby called for some quotes today and the prices seem to be in the $240 range. Ugh! Like immigration don't screw us enough already!
