Congrats!

What a relief it is, isn't it?

Sure is! I really wasn't expecting to get it before the New Year, so it was a nice surprise.

At least this means that London have sprung back into action, so some of you can expect PPRs very soon.

This is my take on the Dec/Jan thing:-

The visa allocation probably applies for a calendar year, so they will be able to actually hand out visas in January. However the process of sending in your passport and getting it back takes at the very minimum 2 weeks. So there is a point in December at which they can confidently send out PPRs in the full knowledge that they won't actually be handing the passport back with a visa until the new year (when the new visa quota kicks in).

The fastest way of getting your visa is to drop off your passport in person at the London office on a Thursday to pick it up exactly 2 weeks later. So with this in mind I predict they'll start sending out PPRs from Friday December the 10th, assuming that Thursday the 30th is not a working day at CIC London.

....er, does that make sense?

....so I guess I was right 8)

I am completely confused by this entire thread about "medicals sent/requested".

Aren't medicals required for every application?
Don't you have to have them done before you send in your application in the first place?

I understood that if you don't send in a _complete (meds, police etc.) application at the start, your application can be sent right back to you or delayed for an extended period.

Please clarify what this thread is about.

TIA

No medicals are requested right at the end. Initially you send your completed forms and docs to your local CHC after being approved from CIO Sydney. They than conduct background checks and point calculation, if you qualify than you get to last stage which is PassPort Request (PPR). This thread is for those who have received medicals request or have sent their medicals and waiting for PPR.

Sorry it was my mistake!
I thought I was posting to the spousal sponsorship forum, where the meds are different.

Oh, I see what you mean!

So I guess if my theory is correct it'll be the 17th before the PPRs start flowing. We'll see.

Congratulations again my friend
Yes , you were right , and I think you can get a new year gift from London CHC.
