Please can anyone who has done medicals in England help to answer the following queries:
1) Does one have to sign the consent form to allow the DMP to access your medical history with your GP?
2) Is the consent form mandatory or voluntary to sign?
3) How much time it takes for the consent form to reach GP and then medical history is sent to DMP?
4) Consequently how much delay does it cause for the DMP to send the medicals to visa office?
5) What if the applicant says that he is not registered with the GP? Will he get away with it or not?
Please help in answering the above questions.
Thank you.

Pb55,
You have nothing to worry about. The medical exam is a basic procedure, Urine test, Bp check, abdominal etc. Mine lasted for just 30mins. i dont think there is any problem with you signing the form. Guess what?.CIC london received our Medicals 48hrs after the medical exam.
You dont av anything to worry about..Go for it!

Where abouts do you live in the UK. I did mine in Slough and he was very good. We did signed all the necessary documents.

It is mandatory for the DMP to send all the documents to CHC within the Five Days from the date of the Medicals.

Your DMP will not contact your GP, but they will note down the address of your GP. They cannot request your GP to access your records, even when you have signed the consent form.

Are you visiting the UK for medicals? In that case register yourself at the nearest GP.

Many thanks f2
I just worried about the consent form that the applicant has to sign whereby the dmp is authorised to access your GP records.
Did you have to sign the consent form?
As your medicals reached within 48 hours that was quick I don't think that they waited to for your record from the GP in case you signed any such forms.

Thank you

Many thanks for your reply Capriraj. I am based in North west, Greater Manchester area and registered with GP. I do not want that my dmp should have access to my records.

If dmp cannot or will not access GP records why do they make you sign the consent form to access your records?

One more thing if the DMP sends the medical records in five days this simply means that he has not written to your GP for access to the applicant's records as that process will require atleast 3+3=6 working days. Any comments?

Thank you.

Thats mandatory to have your consent to access your records in case, usually that does not happen. DMP cannot access your records adn as you live in the UK you know any such request has to pass many channels of data protection before it can be allowed. Stop worrying!

Usually it is such a proffessional examination that any signs will be caught by the DMPs or will be revealed in your Blood, URine and X-Rays.

As I said earlier DMP cannot keep your medical for more than 5 days. Within that period if you ask your dmp whether your documents have bben sen to the CHC.
