Hopefully CIC will be compassionate, but...their response to your extension request may be:
"You were aware that the medical was required. Why did you wait until the last minute"?

Have you requested to be put on a cancellation list to the offices that are closest to you?

Good luck!

Good luck!

I am going to some places tomorrow and see what I can do.

And I would really hope they would not ask something like that, considering they seem to have skipped November and did December applicants (Which I am), combining that with the random delays this year, there was no way of knowing when they will be done, so I waited for the medical request letter, which I received on the 2nd, and at that time, it was already booked past 30 days.
Also, I was told by a medical center that I need to wait for the request before I can book an appointment, which I am now starting to think was total nonsense.

too bad they probably know your name by now. But what I do in those type situation I show up in the morning and insist that I had an appointment. I tell them that I booked the day off from work, and made my way here. Usually they squeeze me in because they think they made a mistake and didn't write down my appointment. I do this with all sorts of appointments, not only medical :)

I am 5 hours north of the nearest panel physician and was told the wait time was more than 30 days. That being said my S/O was able to get his medical done in the UK in less than a day. If he wasn't able to get it done in the UK we *would* have traveled 9 hours to Calgary to get it done within the 30 day time frame.

A day off of work and a day of travel is far less inconvenient than having to reapply or having the application delayed by not getting the medical done in time IMO.

Try Calgary if you can? There are many physicians listed there. :)

Have you heard back with regard to your inquiry?

Are you going to wait or try and find an earlier one?

Sorry for the very late response, it has been a busy month.
I actually got my medical done on the 11th of April as I was lucky enough that the one the local immigration physicians had an opening.

My best advice for anyone in this situation is to call every day and ask if they have any cancellations.
Thanks for all the responses!

Hey Sheps, where in Winnipeg did your wife go to?

the CIC website for panel physicians doesnt work. the drop down list for country/city has nothing.
