I'm getting my medical done on Friday after receiving the request from CIC. I was wondering how long it typically takes for the results to get to them? I realize it depends on the efficiency of your doctor, but assuming they submit the results within a day or two of getting them, how long do results normally take to get back to the doc for them to submit? After this happens, how will you know CIC has received them? Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Ideally it take a week for them to upload the result (varies based on doctor).
You can see the application status (Medicals results has been received) a week or 10 days later after the doctor upload the results..

Just verify with your doctor after a week and keep checking the ECAS.

After a status updates to "medical received", what will be the next step, and how long does it usually take for CIC to contact you in regards to that?

The next step seems to be the one where a lot of ppl are stuck. Supposedly the "background checks" are taking a long time. However the next should be rprf( if you have not recieved it) and than ppr.

Not quite. The Panel Physician uploads the medical results. But they don't go to CIC, they go to one of the Immigration Regional Medical Centres for review. The IMRC reviews them, and then codes them. Then they upload the coded results where CIC can retrieve them.
