According to http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/glossary.asp#b

Background check is=> A procedure to verify the medical, criminal and/or security background of visa applicants to ensure they are admissible to Canada.

So Medical is approved => We all got 3rd Line

Police Certificate => An official copy of a person's criminal record, or a declaration that they do not have a criminal record. Police authorities or government departments issue such certificates. Authorities use them to confirm whether visa applicants are criminally inadmissible. We all have submitted it as well

Now

1. Criminal ( Criminal record they can check from Police certificate we have provided them)
2. Security background (I think this is done by Goverment of Canada, time consuming process, thats why they ask repeatedly to send shedule A background decleration form)

The question is when they commence background check? After reviewing shedule A background decleration form? or Just right after Medical they start it? What i think is that they start it after reviewing the recent submitted shedule A background decleration form...Hope they are working on it...

And as we all have Paid Right of permanent residence fee so i believe its 100% that we will get PPR because:
RPRF=> A charge paid by a principal applicant (with some exceptions), and a spouse or common-law partner travelling with them, before the applicant can become a permanent resident of Canada.

I know this fees can be paid along with application fees but as we have not paid it before, It is requested by VO, london seperately, with Medical, Police certificate & updated forms so at least it is a Positive sign :)

yes u r right.....

dear all
today i received PPR1 from LVO. interestingly my ecas was never updated with medical received line.
i got GCMS today as well.
there r a few observations which u might find of some help.
the GCMS retrieval date was 15th March 2013.
till tht date medical and security was still pending.
though i did medicals on 20th Dec 2012 but i think my med result didnt reach LVO until i confirmed them on 21st march tht i have done medicals through IOM receipt and courier delivery report which was given by IOM.

now if the security check starts only after medical have been received n approved it took them 10 days approx to complete those checks in my case. i think it is unlikely and security checks is part of the background checks which commence right after the issuance of medicals.

best regards n best wishes for all of us!

Dear Ovais,

Congratulation :)

According to cic official website Background check is=> A procedure to verify the medical, criminal and/or security background of visa applicants to ensure they are admissible to Canada.

As per your GCMS your Medical & Secuirty was Pending till 15 Mach 2011

Once LVO recieved your Medical they veryified it (one part over) Meanwhile your criminal & Security background verification was in process and completed same time (Did LVO ask you to submit Schedule A form again, like we submitted it twice or thrice?)

It means verification of Medical and criminal, security background starts together. So seems we all are stuck with criminal, security background checks.

They processed your case within 3 months....while we are waiting more than 5 months to hear something from cic...

i was asked to submit IMM0008 only.
before tht in august i was asked to send updated schedule A form and i wasnt asked for it again.
it is really a mystery as to why some cases are processed quicker. wish u quick n troublefree processing hereon.

So if they asked in August 2012 to submit updated schedule A form, so it means from August 2012 to March 2013 it took about 7 months for verification of your criminal & security background checks. Whereas, Medical verification was processed very quickly within 3 months.

And when you paid RPRF?

Dear Salman
in my openion, now they are processing with high demand and lower demand professions, such as doctors are processed earlier than the accountants etc. we should be patient and pray for each other. Hopefully we will get it because rejection % at this stage is very nominal. NEKEOL

Thank you for your reply Aawan.

I applied for Quebec skilled worker and I applied my application inside of Canada, Montreal.

The main application recevied 24th Oct, 2012.

I got my medical exam on 4th Jan, 2013 and I did my medical exam on 9th Jan, 2013.

And I checked my status, I saw my third line" Medical exam has been received'.

I'm still waiting for the request of my passport.

hope everyone will get good news soon.

You can check it out following trend of London VO.

1)those who gets "MR & add doc request" immediately after their status changes to "in process"(irrespective of MI),the VO takes 7-9 months to stamp the visa after receiving the said documents..in few cases it extend to "re medical " stage also.

2)those who gets "MR & add doc request" after 7-14 months of "in process" status,The VO stamp the visa in 1-3 months maximum.

3)those who have foreign travel history or any other complication in file/application,for them also either MR get delayed or the visa stamping gets delayed.

hi hope786,

i am very glad that "my observations"is using in other threads...this is not London's purely....new delhi VO too...i dont know about other VO....

but one more shocking observation is that even though people having "foreign travel history" or "VERY OTHER FEW PEOPLE "gets visa very fast...because their NOC is high in demand or they have very "best time" in their life..

regards,

ann
