I just received the request to get my medicals done. I just have two questions and one of them is more like an opinion:

1. The only reason I applied t get my PR to Canada because I am current out of status in the US. However, the petition my brother filed for me here in the US was approved and I should be able to get my PR here in the US by the mid next year. Now I received my medicals request. Should I cancel my application at this point? I know it is safer to keep it but I will still have to pay the Permanent Residence Fee for myself and my wife and maybe I could save this money if I decide to cancel. However, I sometimes think that I should keep until I make sure I receive my PR here.

2. If I decide to cancel my application for PR for Canada and I just receive my medicals request, will they refund my application I paid for myself, wife and son?

Cheers.

Nope, they have started processing, so there will be NO refund at this stage.

No refund at this stage. I would suggest you to go ahead for Canadian PR to be safe and if you get your US Green Card then you can surrender the Canadian one. Just a suggestion since you have already invested into it.

Thank you. I was just thinking because I did not want to spend any more money. However, since I do not know if my US green card will be approved, I might as well go ahead with my Canadian PR.

Cheers.
