Dear all,

Me and my wife got medical request Feb 26. I have new baby born on Feb 27, 2012. I did my medical on March 5.

But My wife didn't do the medical still now because of her health condition. I updated my file (add baby) and send to Ottawa on April

02, 2012. It is more than 2 months, still I didn't get Medical request for my baby. I am planning to do medical my wife and my baby

together. My question is Have any expiry date for the Medical request ?. Please suggest me what i am going to do ?

Thanks in advance to everyone.

HI Velu,

When I got the MR - it said that medical results are required within 60 days. Infact the exact wordings are below:

IMPORTANT: You are required to undergo the medical examinations within 60 days of the date of this
letter.
Failure to do so could result in the refusal of your application.

Now, your situation is little tricky. You have done your medicals already. I hope its already sent as well?
But your wife's medical was delayed - only because you were waiting for Ottawa to update your new born also on the file. Seems pretty logical. Though your wife could have done the medicals. You see, its best to follow CIC timelines as things remain smooth. Otherwise, if an officer objects on something and makes something complicated, there is not much one can do.

If you still haven't received any response, please write to CPP-Ottawa email asap ( i mean....ASAP!), inform them
-you've done your medicals
-your wife's medical is delayed
-she wanted to do the medicals with the new born
-new born info supplied to CIC on April 2, 2012
-still waiting for an updated MR

And i'm sure when you are communicating to cpp-ottawa you are repeating all the critical info of your file at the bottom of the email like:
full name, CEC file no, IME NO. (on medical request), Your dob, pob, residential address

I hope you get a response soon.

All the best.

Make sure you send your inquiry through email to CPP Ottawa. Also, in your situation, i would order GCMS notes, this can definitely help clarify your situation.

I'm surprised - is CIC sending different kind of Medical Request letters to each applicant? Usually, there are 2 pages of the Medical Request. Of course the form doesnt say anything, but its the cover letter, the first page that outlines the 60 day time limit to undergo the test.

Well, it seems anything is possible with CIC. I wonder if you can submit your medicals after you get your PR and health card. At least you can use your health card for the check up:)

(but pls, do double check your MR letters).

All the best.
