Guys this is strange . I Landed on Oct 28 and my PR cards was mailed on Nov 8 . Not sure how it happened that fast .

Just write that both of the refused to provide it . they never follow up with employers to ask why they did not provide the letter .

If you can obtain reference letter from any past employer just explain that in the letter . You dont have to give the full story just say that the employer refused to provide one nut make sure that you have one letter from a company where you have atleast worked 1 year for you to be eligible.

It doesnt have to but if its very different like you are a computer graduate working as a chef , that might raise some flags for the VO .

They take forever though to send it can take anywehere between 4-8 weeks sometimes even longer. When i called them they told me its easier to get it from your employer .

If that happens CIC will issue you a letter stating that your work permit has been cancelled and that you should leave Canada right away . Legally they cannot stop you from entering . As far as the gap of 5 months is concerned just tell them you had some personal reasons and you took unpaid...

There is no refund for work permit application

BOWP is usually given for you to continue working. In my case I was laid off so i gave teh reason that i need to continue working to stay in the work force . If you are already working chances of getting BOWP will be very slim . They really dont care if you dont like your employer for any reason...

I was in similar situation . My work permit was valid til dec 2014 but i still got BOWP approved. Just make sure you put convincing enough reasons in your explanation letter .

First of all yes, you can leave you job as requirement is to have 1 year experience not to continue working. Secondly you can apply for BOWP which is valid for 1 years . Its open work permit so you can work for same or new employer

As much i understand your wife is not yet added to your application but wait till you hear back from CIC . They would have mentioned clearly to submit passport both for yourself and your wife but this letter looks more like they are just requesting your passport at the moment .
