Hi

I believe that when you go for your medical examination you dont need your application number. So how does the medical practitioner send my examinmation off? Does he/she wait for me to get it and I contact him/she? What is the process??

Also my daughter lives in the UK and I am in Ireland, do we need to go to the same doc for the medical?

Unless CIO ask you to get medical done, you are not entitled to get medical test in advance. For medical tests you need to have application number.
You do not need to go to same doctor but you both should contact respective authorized doctor to get your medical done. You can refer to the following link:

Well, let's slow down first, and examine the facts. :)

This is the family section, so it depends. For spousal and dependent children sponsorships you can always get the medical done in advance.

Every country specific document checklist form in the Family Class - Spousal lists proof of the medical as something that needs to be sent in with the initial application.

From the country specific document checklist...

"PROOF OF MEDICAL EXAMINATION
Include for yourself and each of your family members Copy 2 of the Medical Report-Section A that the DMP will sign and give to you when you undergo the medical examination. See Appendix C for additional information."

Hi

I will be sending the full application in February but before that I need to get prepared by doing the medical and getting my police clearance etc. So I am wondering can I pay for the application fee's in February. Christmas is an expensive time of year ;)

Taken from the guide to immigration - Please see last bullet point of point 2.

How to proceed
If you are required to undergo a medical examination you must follow these steps
Step
Action
1
Make an appointment with a Designated Medical Practitioner (DMP) for you and each required family member. DMP in your region: www.cic.gc.ca/dmp-md/medical.aspx
2
Fill out Appendix C and bring it and the following items if applicable for you and each of your family members to your medical appointment:
•Appendix C
•Passport and photocopies of the biographical data pages (this is the page that shows the date of birth, the country of origin, etc.)
•If no passport is available, provide an official identity document bearing a photo and the date of birth of the family member
•Eye glasses or contact lenses
•Previous medical reports, prescriptions or treatments
•5 recent photos, taken within six months preceding the date of your examination
•Immigration client identification number (ID #), if known
3
The DMP will give you Copy 2 of the Medical Report: IMM 1017 EFC - Medical Report Section A. Include the original of Copy 2 with your application. (Photocopies will not be accepted.)
4
The DMP will send your results to the appropriate medical office for processing.

you only have a client number if you have been in the immigration process before taking the medical. We did not have one when we took the medical as this was the first time that we had submitted any applications to immigration.

I also got my medical done in the UK, and just didn't fill out the section that asked for Client ID as I hadn't yet sent in the application.

You must make sure you go to an approved doctor, check the website to see where your closest ones are. Once you go to the doctor and get your tests done they will hand you back a document that you must send in with your application if your are applying outland. They then send the full medical report to your VO, which if you are applying outland I assume will be London. Don't worry about this part of the process, as your doctor will know what to do and where to send it.

Yes you can pay your application fees in February, they just need to be paid prior to sending off your application, as you must include your receipt. The medical fees will need to be paid separately to the doctor.

Hi, I had my medical examination here in Canada a week ago. The DMP did not give me any "copy 2". I called the DMPs office today wondering about the copy 2 if they should give it to me, the lady that entertains the immigration medical inquiries told me that they never give any paper aside from the receipts, that they have been doing it for so many years and everything goes well. Now, I don't know what to do. I am planning to just photocopy all the medical receipts I had and include it in my outland application. Any comments, experience and inputs would greatly be appreciated.

Are you sure that they specified that your application was OUTLAND? That may be the confusion?!

My guess is that they don't know what they are doing, as they've only dealt with inland applicants before. I had the same problem with my first doctor. I had to go to another DMP who was familiar with the outland process. Regardless of what they say, they should have given you the copy...
