My medicals expire in August. With the Buffalo office closing and my application still "in process", but they have determined we do not need an interview, should I ask for an extension on the medicals or just keep waiting?

my medical was out of date by 4 months before i got aip, the local cic officer told me that they waiver the 1 year expiration time if there is no initial concerns, so i would just wait until they request you do them again if need be.

Thank you so much. That was my instinct. I'm not even sure where my file is right now. I haven't heard anything since before the transfer when I got a letter saying an interview would not be necessary.

I have seen people applying from the US in Nov of 2011 and have already been approved. I know there have been no issues with my app so I wish I would hear something. It has been a long time.

You may wish to read the Operations Bulletin on extending medicals. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2012/ob423.asp

Hi there, my husbands medicals expired on June 13/12... on June 7th he received a phone call from the VO in Detroit, the man said he was getting a medical extension as he would not be able to land before that date & that it would take another 2-3 weeks and he should have his documentation sent to him.. All good news and am hoping that it is only 2-3 weeks, I have not heard yet if anyone has been granted the extension and what the time was for their COPR with extension returned to them. Anyone have had that experience yet? would like to know if VO was accurate in their information. Thanks alot. Good luck to all.

Hi everyone

I have requested an extension of medical certificate two weeks ago as the final decision of an officer is pending due to medicals which has expired in May 30. Since i have requested it i have yet to get any response as the officer informed earlier that he will be in contact in due course. i thought this operational bulletin would be much speedy but i think i was wrong. My question is how long do you guys think will be the processing time for this new operational bulletin? is there anyone with the same situation as me and was contacted by the IO.?

Hi Lasiar!

Did the Immigration officer say this new bulletin would take 2-3 weeks verbally or you just assumed it to be so?
Thanks

Hi Yasiin, he told my husband in 2-3 weeks he should have his docs back. So we only have his verbal on that one. That is what I am questioning, if anyone has had the process completed in regards to the extension and how long it took once they received word that they were getting it.. its so close to being finally over and its still being drug out.. makes a person stressed.. it is very hard waiting again. but let me know how you make and and Ill post as we hear anything as well. hopefully others will read this post and respond with their experience as well. Take care

Thanks Lasiar, I will share my experience on the forum and post it on here when its finalized. Hope it works for the both of us soon.

Anyone with some sort of experience on the new operational bulletin yet? This new bulletin has been effective since first June and i was one the applicant who requested for it so i was wondering if anyone with same situation is on the forum and has heard from CIC since then?
