Is there such thing as too soon? We're scheduled to get his medical done August 8th 2014, I know it's good for only 12 months so when do they review it? I haven't even sent in my sponsorship application as we have to be married first and aren't getting married until August 21st 2014. The sponsorship approval takes 60 days, then I send in the rest of the info including the medical. Is that an okay time line?

if you are getting your medical done before you get married and send in your app, then the receipt needs to be sent in upfront - as it is a required doc on the checklist. there is no reason to withhold it if it's already been completed.

the medicals are good for 12 months, and CIC has the ability to extend them to help get the applicant through landing. So getting it a few weeks, even a few months before applying is not an issue.

I got my exam done in Nov, and submitted my app in March. Just got decision made, and no issue so far with my medical.

I think maybe you are under the impression that you send your forms first for sponsor approval, that is not the case. All items from the checklist get sent in together from the beginning.

Oh so I send it all in? But I heard that background checks are only good for 90 days and it take 55 just to get accepted as a sponsor. Honestly I think they need to revamp this system it is messed up!

it's 90 days from the day the package is received. as long as the date on th record is within 90 days of delivery, there is usually no issue. in most cases, applicants aren't penalized application validity because of the time it takes for cic to process it.
