Medical Examination

Hello everyone,

I applied for PR through the Inland application. I knew that it would take sometime for the app to process and that is fine. What we decided to do is get my medical exam done and send it in with all of the other paperwork instead of waiting for a response, we thought this would help with the process. Well, we haven't heard anything yet and the year is slowly coming to a close. There hasn't been any updates save for one, "Application Received". So my question is this: Will I have to get another med. exam because a year will have passed or is it okay because the office received it along with all of the other paperwork?

Thanks in advance,
Dan

The medical, you are correct, expires after one year. If you near the end of the process, and the expired or soon-to-expire medical is the ONLY thing standing between CIC and approval of your application, CIC *may* extend the medical to allow you time to finish the process and land. It is at their discretion, and I've no idea of how often they grant the extension. They will send you a request to re-do the medical if they do not extend it.
