On the CIC Guide it states:
Medical instructions
You may either:
undergo an upfront medical examination by contacting a Panel Physician or
wait until your application is reviewed and medical instructions are provided to you by the immigration office.
I'm thinking, of course, that it's a much better choice to do it up front.
Does it really matter?
How long does it take to do it up front?
Does the doctor just deal with it? or do we have to wait on paper work from the doctor?
