Anyone had experience with epilepsy and medicals?

My wife is epileptic, her last seizure was over 3 years ago. She only ever had seizures in her sleep and is now well controlled. She also has been cleared to drive in Alberta

Hi Welshsparky,

Did you disclose epilepsy of your wife in medical examination? I am having epilepsy from last 15 years but is now well controlled with only one seizure in last 10 years. I have to appear in medical examination next week. Please inform me should I disclose it or not.

Anyone please suggest me what to do?

Hi All,

Can anyone tell what is the category for medicals for Express entry ?

EDE or NON-EDE ,
family or workers

We (my wife and I) had done our Medicals for Work Permit TRV in Jan 2015. Is the same valid for PR Application also? We both have got the Medical Request once again - same form 1017E.

If we have to do the medicals once again - then who is the best doctor in Bangalore?

Hello everybody,

I applied August 2014 for PR under CEC. It should be about time for me to receive my Medical Request.

I had a DVT (deep vein thrombosis) about 3 years ago and I am still on Anticoagulants (warfarin).

Could this be considered Excessive Demand and get a refusal?

According to this: cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/medic/admiss/excessive.asp excessive demand is when your cost exceeds $6,387 per year which is the average cost pro capite in Canada. I don't know what factors they also include on the total count but since I pay for my meds, the actual cost on public health would only be regular blood tests that i have to take every month (which are about $13 each) and maybe the one per year doctor visit which is about $200.

Should I just not mention it to the doctor? Does anybody know what specific values they research on blood analysis?

Thanks

Will following create obstacles to get clearance in medical from CIC?

1) High bood pressure I regularly take medicine and it is under control
2) I had TB in childhood then after everything is fine

One more question
In Medical exam do they do sonography?

Please help. My wife and I submitted our Medicals through IOM.
My wife's furtherance test of sputum came negative but the xray still looks the same as the first one. The Pulmonologist told her to do further test and a lump was found in her breast. The Pulmonologist said that since all tests has ruled out TB, the she will be fine to get the PR visa. How true is that?

It will be well with you sir on this issue. I'm glad to note the specialist's comment that "all tests has ruled out TB". Since CIC depends on the panel physician's final position, you are on your way to PPR. :)

what I know from my experience is that high blood pressure itself is not a problem, but if you have other problems due to high blood pressure such as kidney damage it could be a problem. so the main idea is very simple: what is the cost of your health problem that will be covered by Canadian healthcare system when you get permanent residency (NOT 10 - 15 years later just when you get it.). so high blood pressure: almost nothing, no cost.. kidney problems or cardiac problems: big cost.

the second important point: is this applicant is trying to hide something, is he/she lying? this is also very important. if you forget to inform your physician about one of your health problems or if you really dont know about a serious health issue you have, it may probably interpreted as: you tried to hide it. and then no need to check it's cost to healthcare system. you dismissed. give correct information, if it is possible have a check up before the exam and learn about it and start treatment before the exam.

Hi. Will back problems like slip disc be problems in the medicals? Have that problem when sat down for long or drove for a couple of hours...

Hello everyone, I have a question, if I send my med result with my application, will they accept?

Not really, unless you tell them specifically with or without reports or if they can detect the issue with your movements.
