I underwent the medical examination on 4th June 2010.
I have detailed the process below for the benefit of all the others on this forum.

I reached the clinic (apollo Clinic on GN Chetty Road, Chennai) at 9:30 am the appointment was for 10:30 am.

The list of the things that I took with me are given below
==============================================
1.Original Passport
2.Copy of passport
3.5 black & white passport size photos
4.Negative of the above photo
5.Letter and forms from CHC requestng me to submit the medicals
6.Rs.3000 Cash

On reaching the clinic I was given a form and asked to fill in my general details like Name Address etc, I was also asked for my immigration file no here.
I had to also give the photos to be stuck on this form.
I submitted the form and the person at the counter checked my details against the passport and letter from CHC. Then he asked me to go get my height and weight checked

The following tests were conducted in the same order mentioned below
====================================================================
1. Hieght Check
2. Weight Check
3. Eye Test
4. Hearing Test
5. Blood Test
6. Urine Test
7. Chest Xray - they ask for the photo negative here to attach to the xray. This helps to identify it as your xray even if there are 2 people with the same name.
8. General physical examination by a doctor - The doctor checked my breathing using a stethescope and then checked my vital organs
by pressing around my stomach, kidneys, liver etc. Then he checked my blood pressure.

He also asked me the following questions

8.1 - Have I undergone any major surgeries?
8.2 - Do I have any serious illness which requires regular medical treatment like visiting a hospital or clinic?
8.3 - Do I regularly take any medicines for treatment of any health problems?
8.4 - Do I have diabetes, heart problem, hypertension,etc?

After the session with the doctor my tests were completed and I was given a receipt and the medical examination was over.

Items retained by the clinic
============================
1. Passport copy
2. Medical examination form issued by CHC
3. passport size photos and negative

Hope this helps others.

All the Best & God Bless
Cheers,
Rishab

Did you collect the Courier tracking number for them? Hope you already know that you can track the delivery of your Medical report from DMP
However once your local CHC receive it your E cas status will be changed to In process ( Medical received)
Good luck and pl keep praying for us to follow

Thank you Rishab. Twas helpful. I went for the medicals last week and it went as you had mentioned. I thought it was streamlined well.
Yday I called the hospital and they gave me a phone number of the dept which handles the courier. They said the reports were sent through blue dart and has been rcvd in Delhi.

How long does it take to process?

Have you got the call for passport yet? How much time to get the visa stamped?

Thank you.

i dont think they specifically do a cholesterol test. but if you have other problems that are usually associated with high cholesterol (e.g. high blood pressure etc), and if he thinks your blood pressure is too high, then he can ask you to undergo additional tests. this is what my understanding is. others can comment as well.
