I got my provincial nominee approved in March 2012, did my medical in June, 2012. Case processing Ottawa informed me in email they extended my medical application but didn't mention how long they extended --- any idea? Looks like my application is "in process" state forever.

As the topic suggests, they are extended for 12 months. ;)

How long has it been taking for approval to extend medicals these days???

My husband's medicals are expiring in November and he just received his PPR last week. Is there any chance that he could get his COPR before November? Or will they get his medical results extended which could take months?

Has anyone ever had PPR before they extend the medicals?

I have the same case like spoken05, please someone comment.

Medical extensions only take 1-2 weeks. I've never heard of anyone having it take months.

The proper thing to do is to extend them. The operational manuals note that the visa should be valid for at least two months when you receive it, though I've seen lots of cases where CIC does not honour that.

Hello everyone,
my big brother filed family immigration case of my parents and mine in March 2008.
they sent us medical request in November 2012 afterwards they asked background check in August 2013, rite now according to medicals date our medical is about to expire on 6 November 2012 so my brother has sent email to cic on october 2013 and asked whats the matter, medical is expiring and still we didnt get PPR request so they repiled via email in 11 days that imigrations officer has filed a request to extend your medical for 3 months
So does anyone have idea whats that mean and when they will send us PPR request ?

I believe very soon since your VO sent an extension of your medicals it is a good sign. My medical will expre November 06,2013 but the VO never said anything and tomorrow is the day that s/he will take the final decision of my file.

thanks naomi39 for your concern

Haven't read all of this thread (I will try, I promise :) ) went to link in opening post and it says that notice expired...?

I haven't received my COPR and anniversary of medical exam date is coming up in a few days...will I be expecting some kind of notification that my medical has been extended? I received ppr 10/10/13. I've been checking my email every day, so far nothing.

They seem to be operating under the guidelines in the OB anyway still.

They do not advise you that your medicals have been extended. If you order GCMS notes, the updated expiration will be noted in your file though.

Thanks computergeek! :) 8)

Will the extended time show on the paperwork they send with permanent residency packet? Or will we have to order the notes?

If by "permanent residency packet" you mean confirmation of permanent residence, yes. It's used to compute the expiration of your document.

Thanks computergeek, that is very helpful to know.
