My wife made the x-rays on 16.01.2013 and Ottawa got it on 24.01.2013. I don't know how long we have to wait and why they didn't confirm the requested extension and she had to redo the x-rays only? ::) You are lucky with London :)

If it was only x-ray, then it's for the extensions. Sometimes they need additional tests before granting the extension. As far as I understood, it depends on the person's history and also on the places they have visited/lived.

Hopefully the extension will arrive soon for all of us. You have been waiting for 6 weeks already. Almost there :) Good thing is extensions are for when the only thing outstanding is the medical.

Thank you! Are you also waiting for an extension or you had to redo the exams?

Ours is also an extension. As far as I understood our file is now pending medical extensions since mid-Feb. Sometimes I wonder if re-doing the medicals would've been faster!

Hi its really nice to read such a thread where we can meet other people who is having smiliar situation like us. Thanks ohcanadiana for this innitiative.

i would like to share my case and ask for your guidance. My reassessment was requested on first week of december. Then after 3 months on march 6th they asked for re chest xray. The letter came from RMO manila. I have done the xray and sent it already.

i wanna know from ur experiances how long does it take for them to inform me after this xray report sending. What could be the next step? Do i have a chance to get ppr request soon? And does RMO manila reassess all the reassessment file or is it only for me cause i belong singapore medical office. Just wanna know after this how long should i wait :(

Thanks

You guys are lucky at least your visa office actually request for an extension. Mine won't even request one, they said it must be requested on month before expiry of medicals. On the Cic website it says within 15 months of initial assessment. My medical exam expired 3 weeks ago. These officers are driving me bonkers!!

Hello all
Our medicals expired March 13th 2013 our application was received March 23 2012
Our last communication from the embassy was Dec 7th 2012 when they asked us for an authorization to return to Canada (ARC) and we sent them everything Dec 13th 2012

We have not heard anything so we decided to send them an email in Feb as our medical expiry approached asking if we should re do it or If they were going ahead with the extension and to this day we got no response.
I contacted my MP office they said they could not get any information on the medicals but that the ARC was approved March 1st. As the ARC is the last step in our process this would mean the only thing left would be the medicals.. that being said with the new bulletin you would think they would be doing an extension since we are within the 15 months.

We still have received no communication. I worry as they have not contacted un since Dec 7th so we have no idea if they have requested the extension and how long that will take or if they are going to tell us to redo the medicals and we have wasted all this time waiting for an extension that they may not have requested. The last notes I ordered were printed Feb 26th 2013 and they had no mention of a medical extension.

Anyone have any thoughts?

hello everyone.
on my interview i was told that they would request for my medical extension (as my medicals expired a week ago), my gcms says i passed medical exam. so what do you think will they simply give extension or can send request for re do ?

I'm in Skilled Worker category but will share my experience anyhow.
Here's my timeline for Medicals and situation:

Completed and sent medicals to Ottawa for me and wife on May 5, 2012,

CoPR & Immigration Visas issued Nov 15, 2012

New baby born Dec 15, 2012

Request sent to cancel Visas issued and also sent documents to add baby to our application = Jan 25, 2013

VO sends Medical forms for baby on Mar 25, 2013 and cancels our previous Visa and returns passport

VO also informs that since our medicals are going to expire by the time baby’s medical is approved, therefore they requested extension of validity of our medicals and the extension was granted  as all other procedures had already been completed. Therefore no new medicals required for us parents and now only waiting for baby’s medicals to be approved and then all set to send passports for Visa and CoPR.

Anyone know long Ottawa takes to approve Medicals for new-born baby and then send the approval to VO?

Hi all!

I have a question I hope somebody would answer it, do you receive an email once they extend the medical?

thanks in advance

Congrats on the approval! As you can tell from this thread and elsewhere on this forum, there is no standard processing time for medicals. From what I can see it varies wildly depending on when you completed them, who your doctor was and which Regional Medical Office (RMO) they were sent to. My personal experience; I inquired with Ottawa VO and they said 4 to 6 weeks, which I'd be surprised if it is. Others have been waiting 3 months. Granted, these are all adult Medicals which may not directly answer your question.

@ Canada Wolf - yes, if you ask the Visa office in an email or case specific inquiry then they should be able to answer if extension was granted. In my case I didn't even know medicals validity can be and VO informed that they applied for our medicals extension and it was granted.

Dear fellows,
I have applied under FSW in 2009 and we have undergone medical examination on 2nd April 2012. Afterwards i got a invitation call for PPR step-1 in September 2012 but i informed to london processing office about new baby arrival. My new baby was born in November 2012 and subsequently i sent all documnets related to new born baby in dec 2012.

After completion of new born baby medical in january 2013, the london office sent me an email regarding PPR step-2 in March 2013 and advised me to sent passports to islamabad office for visa stamping. After two weeks London office email me to reterive passports as our medical is near to expire on 2nd April 2013. London office further instruct that new delhi office will advise me about medical extension. Therefore i Retrieve all passports from islamabad office after 15 march 2013 and waiting for medical extension / re-medical.

After expiry of my medical on 2nd April 2013, the ECAS shows "Decision made" however i haven't receive any information related to medical extension or re-medical. Do you guys have any idea about "decision made" when london office themself turned back from their own initiated PPR step-2 as medical expiry was near on that time? Is it a positive or negative sign? do they allow re-medical or they process without re-medical? any idea about next step? i will be great full
