hi,,after you do your medical exam(in Canada or USA) do you have to ask the doctor for a copy and send it with your spouse outland sponsorship package? or the doctor will do it online? how do i know he did it?

thank you

Hi

The doctor will give you a receipt to include in your app as proof that you've done the medical and will forward the results to CIC.

The only way you will know if he has sent it off is when you receive SA and when you are able to check ecas . Not much piece of mind but nothing you can do except wait . I felt the same way when my step son took his medical . my step son had to show the Dr how to send it to Cic, because she had a new computer and didn't know how to use it . Pretty old school Dr. She didn't take a photo we had to provide one for her . My husband had his done in Canada ,and the panel Dr took his photo at the Dr's office. I made copies before sending the receipt off to them.

You can enclose the receipt in ur file...some hospitals say that they will inform cic by email and i am sure tjey do it...but for ur own safety u cam enclose it and keep a photocopy for u...

Once your medical exam has been completed, the doctor will give you a document confirming that you underwent a medical exam. You must include a copy of that document with your application.

If the doctor works with the eMedical electronic system:

they will give you an up-front medical notification printout(medical information sheet with your pic,UMI number and barcode on it)

If the doctor works with a paper system:

they will give you a copy of the IMM 1017B Upfront Medical Report form.
You must attach that form to your application before you submit it to the visa office. If you apply online, you must upload that form before you can submit your application.

a) CIC doctors in Canada and the US do NOT use the paper system, it is generally ALWAYS the emedical system, as it's what CIC is transitioning to. If a Canadian or US doctor is using the paper form, then they should be reported to CIC and the applicant should go to a doctor who uses the right technology.
b) there is no way to apply for spousal sponsorship online, so please refrain from suggesting any sort of online application for family class pr.

yes, before you leave, make sure the doctor gives you a piece of paper that says "Emedical" on it. it will have a barcode, your picture, your passport#, and other identifying information. this is what you will put in the package. i highly recommend making a copy for your own records before you send out the application.

thank you rhcohen2014 ,,,you are extremely helpful,,hope you know that...
