I'm doing the sponsorship work for my wife for PR, and I'm not sure how or when to obtain the medical exam clearance in Hong Kong. The website & paperwork is out of date on the CIC site.

Is it like the Police check where they need an official letter for CIC in order to do the medical check?
Or can my wife go to an approved panel physician and they provide her some paper work or something I summit with the application?

Thanks

Do the medical exam before submitting your documents. Your wife can make an appointment with any of the Hong Kong panel physicians listed on the CIC website.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/pp-md/pp-list.aspx

The doctors office will give you a receipt to send in with your application, and they will send her medical report to the Embassy. Make sure she has her ID and I believe 4 passport photos when she goes for the appointment.

Both the medical examination and police certificate should be done before you submit the application (outland).

HK police wont start a police check without a letter in your hand from Canada's side.

You're correct. I included the self help letter from CIC website, the Request for Police Certificates/Clearances and Authorization for Release of Information, and my application of HK police certificate is returned and stated they need the letter from immigration.

So I guess I just need to wait until HK VO send me the request, right?

I have filled out the Forms and wonder which is better - to do the medical check before or after submitting the form? any advice please?
I called one of the panel clinic and they suggested me to submit form first, wait for a letter from immigration office and bring that letter to do the medical check. I called another panel clinic and they just ask me to bring passport and photos without asking if I have submitted the forms.
I saw an information that medical check results is valid for one year. As no one can say for 100% if my application will be approved and get my visa for landing within one year, is it better to do the medical check after submitting forms and receiving the letter requesting for medical check?
thanks.

Medical examination needs to be done before you mail your PR application. After the medical exam, the clinic will give you a piece of paper with eMedical and a bar code on it, which is the proof of your medical exam, include that in your PR application.
