it is ok to send medicals along with the application or wait for them to be requested. outland applicants have done it both ways and waiting does not seem to cause any delay in processing.jonny_rotten said:Hi folks,
Can anyone tell me the latest on this topic? Is it required to send a medical in with the initial application or wait until it is requested? We have 1 year until we plan to move over from the UK.
Also, I have read somewhere that you must submit a medical and police check for every member of your family that you may wish to sponsor in the future. My Canadian wife is sponsoring me so does that mean that i need to submit medicals and police checks for my parents and brother & sister just in case I might want to sponsor them in the future? Seems expensive given that a medical is £300 per person. We have no children yet though our first is due in December.
Thanks for your help!
no, medicals are only needed for applicants and dependants on the current application. For example, if an entire family was being sponsored, mother, father, kids and there were 4 people on the application or 3 + 1 unaccompanying dependant, there would need to be 4 medical exams included. Since you are the ONLY person on this application, then you are the ONLY person who needs to provide a medical. Your parents and siblings are not seeking sponsorship and are not your dependants, therefore they have no need to supply a medical exam.
CIC will use your "additional family information" form to determine future eligibility for sponsorship. FYI, siblings are NOT eligible to be sponsored through family class.
