Medical Exam and Interview Inquiry.

Greetings everyone,

I have 2 questions here.

I have applied for the study permit online through CIC website on April 20, 2016 that's 20 days ago and I have not received any new updates about my application. No addition documents needed at the moment for all the requirements. I have indicated that I need to take the medical exam but they haven't responded yet also.. is it normal to take this long? Even tho I have applied from Qatar and as it illustrates on the timing table, it takes about 5 weeks only and I have finished more than half of the period without any new updates..

Do all the applicants for study permits are asked for interviews?

What a coincidence!؟

I have applied online for Study permit from Qatar on the same day, namely 20th of April. I have received a request to provide my biometrics and I did after 4 days.

I am not supposed to do a medical exam.

I'm quite sure that if you have lived in Qatar for 6 or more consecutive months you will need to take the exam as it states here cic.gc .ca/english/information/medical/medexams-temp.asp .

Secondly, did your Biometric Information got updated? because I have given them my biometric in 21 or 22 April and so far its still the same "Not needed at this time" even tho they sent me the email to go and get them..

@retribution ......pls kindly make your expression more clearer for better understanding so as to provide a precise and unambiguous response to your question.......my little contribution.....is this, my wife is also going for study in Canada though she lives in Nigeria but i applied online on her behalf for a study permit and i will be accompany her as well, we applied on the 23rd April and we both had our finger print on the 26th April my finger print was updated on 27th April but my wife finger print was not updated until i made series of calls to both Nigeria,Ghana and Qatar plus a lot of emails bombardment to the VFS Nigeria Ghana and Abu dhabi....i also made use of CIC case specific just to get across to the Canadian embassy or the authority concern.....alas so on the 7th of April my wife finger print was updated...... until now except that, we are still waiting for next line of action from CIC...... if you are a Nigerian there is a link up on whatsap mainly for Nigerians........

Thanks for the info. I'm actually Egyptian. What about the medical exam? did you need to do it? if so, did it got updated on your online application or not?

Yes Bro, I thought that the medical exam depends on your nationality. Then, I recognized that it depends on the place where you are living.

I am still waiting like you the medical exam. it seems that it can be the last step before issuing the visa.
