No news here

one week ago means last Friday i got mail about " There is an a update in your account please sign in to your account " but till today there is no update im afraid dont know whare is updating my case

Yesterday our account said updated instead of submitted.. we didn’t get any mail ..
I’m not sure why it’s taking so long.. if they’re going to refuse it why don’t they refuse it earlier. It’s just very frustrating

because they want to give the visa thts why they are verifing evrything and its taking much time. last time you get refusal in 22 days am i right ?
and you read here long time pending case approved 95%.

I hope you’re right,
But I’ve seen people getting refusals after 1 month and 2 months even ..

Questions:

1. How long does it take to complete the background check?

2. Considering they missed the convocation ceremony, is there any chance to get the refusal?

I would appreciate if someone can shed some light.

Hi.. background checks do take time as they are done with the help of external agencies, so there is no definitive time frame for this. Visas are issued on your circumstances so the dates are not relevant. Hope it helps.

I guess as much. It's the review that changed the decision. She is lucky because a request for a review is not normally considered

not just review, I provided additional document which helped CIC to reconsider.

Technically, she should have reapplied i.e. new application with new, additional documents. So, it is not a review as such. Anyways. All is well that ends well
