i am waiting too, its been a month, hoping to see some activity next week.
Yah sounds like a month or so timeline is accurate, After that, in the past I can see 1 to 1.5 months after test update for the status updates, so about 2-3 months for us and then again a wait for a few weeks for oath? Thats why I was thinking of December. And how come some people have background completed already and some don't.

It is rather weird, or at least not obvious to me, what the “presence” and “prohibitions” takes so long once the background check is completed. I would have those the background check would have highlighted and issues that could prohibit the applicant. I would have also thought the presence check was verifying the data I entered with border crossing data which should be relatively simple.

There must be a reason, maybe simply a volume issue but I’m probably over simplifying the tasks.

I doubt most of us enjoy limitless patience but that is what is required….

That would be awesome!

Looking at the tracker spreadsheet from March, there are a good number of applicants that have already completed their oath ceremony. So logically (even though logic may not apply), they are two months ahead of us hence my guess we are two months behind them. There is even one in the April group that completed their oath ceremony which seems like an outlier, but I’ll remain hopeful.

Of course there are plenty from earlier months which don’t show the oath as completed. Hopefully that are just folks not updating their tracker records since they are done…

As I’m over 54 (no lang/citizenship test required) and a single applicant with wife and kids who are citizens, I would hope mine would breeze through… wishful thinking.

If you check the data on the google sheet, the slowness started in April before that the processing was much faster. My assumption is, before the elections, IRCC put most of the resources towards the citizenship department to attract more votes. Post elections, they started moving the resources back to the other departments hence caused the slowness in citizenship department.
This is my assumption based on my experience, I applied a visitor visa of my friend towards the end of last year and they took more than usual time and called IRCC to check the progress and I was told that there was a bit of delay for visitor visa applications and based on the data I see from Jan 2024 to Mar 2025, the citizenship applications were processed at the speed of light, in some cases, 2-3 months, and now back to normal pace 8-12 months just like before the election rush.

Someone else said the same thing. I don’t believe it was a factor, conspiracies of that kind don’t stay quiet. Plus, I don’t believe newly minted citizens race to vote.

That said, the change in pace does seem to be real and I don’t have an answer for why.

Things do seem to be slowing, though I don't buy anything related to elections personally. But yah March applicants saw Test ECAS (I am assuming this means update on tracker after test?) within 2 weeks of the test pass. Same with April. We have had a lot of people approaching 3 weeks already. So probably wise to add an extra month or two to the timeline. Not ideal, but still pretty good chance to finish the process before end of year.

Have not received a AOR over 2 months, wondering if the fact that it was returned and resent that an AOR will not be sent

I like to think it’s the time of year when all business slows down. Kids are on summer break, and most people are taking their holidays to enjoy the weather. Maybe some offices are down some staff right now because of that factor. Another factor I guess to the slowing pace, which is also probably based on quotas they’re asked to meet, which did shift some after the change of PM.

But the most important thing to remember is that, while the process may have slowed down a few weeks, the majority of us have already overcome the challenging phase, including the longer PR processing time. We will all be Canadian soon, perhaps just a few weeks later, but it is still very likely to happen. Patience is a virtue, so let’s be patient and just wait a moment and let it play out.
