On the application tracker, it shows last updated on 3rd December but I don't really see any updates, is that common? I checked GC Key and nothing there too...

It's all the same as before, eligibility - completed, medical - completed, biometrics - completed, and background check - in progress

Hey folks,

Visitor visa for my parents was applied in on July 2, 2024
Biometrics given by both of them: July 22, 2024
I just checked that:
Biometrics for Mother: Updated on July 22, 2024
Biometrics for Father: Updated on Oct 24, 2024
Eligibility has completed for Mother and Father.

Does this mean that Ircc started with the background check after Oct 24, 2024 as Father's biometrics got updated on this day??

Yes I was asked for a medical, also all parts of my application were the same as before i.e., eligibility, biometrics, and medical showed complete and background check showed in progress. No change whatsoever
