No. As said before, it's irrelevant if this was an innocent mistake. This is a fatal error with permanent consequences.

Again, you were not examined as part of HIS application. This means you can never be sponsored by him. You were required to go through medical and background / security checks as part of HIS application not only to be included as a spouse for future sponsorship but also for HIS PR application to be approved. Technically he committed misrepresentation (lying in his application) by failing to declare you and add you to his application before landing.

You can keep asking the same question but the answer is not going to change. This was an extremely extremely serious error for your husband to make and, as said above, one with permanent consequences.

Feel free to get advice from a lawyer. However IMO this is a complete waste of money and you should be directing your efforts and focus on figuring out how to qualify for PR on your own through an economic immigration program.

This is a reply to all who lose hope after reading this thread. I was told here that my application would for sure be rejected as my husband made an innocent mistake of not disclosing me as his partner and did not declare himself as 'Married' before arriving.

My timeline:
9th July - Received PFL as my husband is mentioned as SINGLE as per his PR and to provide them proof that I belong to the spousal in Canada class.

16th July - Responded to PFL providing proof and acknowledging our mistake of non-declaration with an apology letter to IRCC

29th July - Application transferred to Etobicoke Office

**Was active on this thread for help, but everyone said that my application would be rejected and I might not receive any response from IRCC**

(Patience and hope wins everything)

18th Oct - Received AIP
19th Oct - Received Pre-Arrival

And now my PR card is on the way.

For everyone considering only this thread as the answer to all queries, NO. I suggest do not lose hope because of the negative comments here.

If you haven't done anything wrong in your application or have not misinterpreted any information, Officers will understand your story.

Just be genuine and always be truthful in your application.
I hope my case helps anyone who reads this thread for help.

Good luck to All :)

more than anything this shows the disastrous state of immigration in Canada. Rules no longer apply and it’s a free for all. The government has done a master stroke at cheapening Canadian residency.

Well Call it my luck and also it was a mistake not some fraud. I had all the proofs to show. We explained it good and apologised and they understood.

Definitely not your fault. And good for you for being honest. My point being is that the immigration system is more flexible than Cirque du Soleil; it’s treated as a political mechanism and not what it was intended for.

Hi all! Quick q about changing addresses during the application. My partner and I are looking to buy a house and have reached a point we might start making offers, so I think it's very likely I'll change addresses before my file is complete due to the wait times in Quebec (looking at another year minimum if I'm being delusionally optimistic). Do I and my sponsor both need to submit a web form to pass along this info or can I submit one for both of us? And can an address change cause delays in the approval process? I'm currently in background check but with Quebec wait times I really doubt I'll get pr before 2026 so I kind of want to keep living my life.

Change it.. Don't change it... Quebec is unpredictable. Whether this will be an issue is anyone's guess.

You should definitely update your address. They might send you things by post. I don't know if it will affect processing times, but my instinct is that it won't. We changed our address, and I don't think it has delayed our application, but who knows? We submitted a web form for the PA's address update and called about the sponsor's address update because there was no working option for changing the sponsor's address through web forms.

I agree, you should definitely call or webform them the change in address. Remember to do it for both PA and Sponsor if it is Inland Application as one of the requirements is the both spouses are living together.

Thanks! Yes, it's inland, which is why I was concerned about making sure both of us got updated. When we get closer to moving I'll make sure to call and submit info. Thanks to you both!!
