I think every ghost updates means something bcoz, I received ghost updates whole week everyday and then got medical yesterday and sposnor eligibility completed. On tracker it shows sponsor eligibility completed on oct07 but I got to know on oct 6 so that means these ghost updates really means something. Same on oct 13, tracker updated but no real update and then later I checked that on that day I got my biometrics refund.

Ofcourse they mean something. Confirmed by ircc agents. It mean the officer working on it made some updates at back end.

We submitted our application on the same date. Got pre arrival on Sep 1 and background check still says "not started". We've been receiving ghost updates since then.

Eligibility Completed yesterday. Received Pre-Arrival service letter. COPR document number updated in PR tracker. But, COPR document isn't received yet.
Anyone in the same situation?

Sorry for the delay! No COPR letter or number yet, and the account doesn't say eligibilty completed or anything. However, PR tracker says decision made. I think we're just waiting on the "in writing" part, which will probably be a physical letter as opposed to an email

May be agent is working from home.. clearing backlogs

I also got multiple ghost updates (I stopped counting now) after 1st Sept - Eligibility in progress for PA

Eligibility on principle applicant's portal is a check where they ensure your relationship is genuine or not. They go through all the supporting documents such as, pictures, marriage certificate, etc,. and make a call. If it says completed that means they have gone through all this.

I have heard that people received pre-arrival services emails after eligibility is complete and then the background check kicks in.

I just received a message on my GC key for invitation of Pre arrival services but on my status tracker Eligibility is still not started and was last updated on Oct 6 so I guess my Eligibility is complete they have just not updated that yet.
